A Day in The Life of... Trucido

This week, I would proudly like to present you a team which provides support to the general community of Bootleggers on a daily basis, a team of players, who devote their time in order to answer your questions and to assist you in the best possible way... A team which I am a proud member of, and that is, the Bootleggers Help Desk Operators.

For those of you who do not know what an Help Desk Operator, or HDO for short, is, let me explain it to you. Help Desk Operators are some sort of a bridge between the Elite Guard members and the general community and that is how we try to present ourselves. We are a group of players, chosen by the Bootleggers Staff, to answer the questions players might have on a daily basis. Our primary job is to answer Help Desk tickets, but we are also known for participating in Game Forum topics and monitoring the Forums in general. Although it is not required as part of our job, we gladly do it. HDOs can be easily recognized by the yellow names on the Users Online page and the yellow nicknames in the Forums.

Now, let us get started. As usual, I have Bootmailed every single Help Desk Operator and asked them a few simple questions. Firstly, I wanted to know what their daily routine consists of. All of the HDOs stated that they start their day the same way. They have a look at the Help Desk and answer any pending tickets, ensuring the best possible reply they can give. After doing so, they check if there are any new updates by the Elite Guards of notifications which would require their attention. After that, it's mostly what normal players do. Doing Crimes, Auto Burglaries, committing an Organized Crime, and checking the forums. Help Desk Operators who log on at odd hours, sometimes have to clear out spam or forum violations as well.

With Help Desk Operators being bright yellow on the Users Online page, they are often the target of random players with random messages, just to get a reply from an HDO or to score some money off them. That is why, I was pretty interested in what the weirdest or funniest thing they have experienced was. Most HDOs replied that they have not experienced anything out of the ordinary, and that nothing really shocked them that much that would stick in their memory. However, some have stated that they find it weird when they receive Bootmails from people, where players actually offer them money in order to be muted. Why? No one knows. Personally, the weirdest thing I have experienced as an HDO was my first day on the job. When you think you know almost everything about the game, and then the first ticket you get or the first Bootmail you get, confuses you so much that you completely forget what you previously know. One Help Desk Operator even stated that he got banned by a Moderator for duping, when he was trying to prevent an exploit which was related with an non-existing account with Moderator abilities. Fortunately, the HDO was later unbanned.

By the time you have finished reading this weeks edition of A day in the life, I hope that you know a little bit more about what an HDO is, and most importantly, a little more about the Help Desk Operators who help the community on a daily basis and bring issues from the players, to the Staff (if the issue was accidentally overlooked by the Staff in the first place).

I would personally like to give a big thank you to Farkie, JuanFran, Franchise, Joris, Myst, StarDarkFame, Kayagroove, Spacie and Nyxxie! You all do an amazing job day in and day out and it is a pleasure to be a part of such an amazing team!
