Two Weeks Later Mikamon

Upon seeing this title, one might expect this article to cover something regarding the crew Bootleggers once knew as Two Weeks Later and was renamed into False Impression, however this would not be the case. Instead, the Buzz caught up with our two newest Moderators, Nyxxie and Riserva, to find out how they thought about their green coats after two weeks of moderating the game, hence the title of the article.

After two weeks on the job, the Buzz wanted to know if the two new Moderators saw any significant changes compared to being a player, as we imagined there had to be some. Riserva said, “Certainly there are differences between being a regular player and a Moderator. You have a lot more responsibilities, and a lot more of your time is simply devoted to giving back to the community.” Nyxxie, on the other hand, told the Buzz, “There were no significant changes, that I can see. I expected them all when I was made moderator. We don't know as much as players think we do, we do not know how the game runs as far as percise numbers on safe booze to carry, and stuff to help you rank the most etc. We are equally in the dark.”

Riserva also had something else to say regarding how his way of playing the game had changed. He told us, “I find myself spending a lot more time answering Bootmail, reading the forums, and just simply said, moderating the game, instead of just messing about. I would have to say that when you start off as an HDO, you get somewhat of an idea of how your time spent on this game will change, should you get promoted, so all of the changed which do come with the new position are expected. It is a lot more responsibility, but in my opinion, it is also a lot of fun.”

As the Buzz now had a fair idea of what had changed for these two players, we were of course curious as to whether or not they liked the changes they had witnessed. Nyxxie said, “I think moderators should have a bit more understanding of the game's inner workings, but I understand why it is like this, after all... how many moderators were kicked and had some vendetta afterwards, imagine what they would do with the information they were trusted with knowing,” and Riserva added, “I can honestly say that I do. I enjoy every moment I spend as a Moderator. You help out, you moderate as well as have a bunch of laughs every day at some of the things that come flying into your Mailbox. Hehe”

“Everything seems pretty much how I expected it to be,” Nyxxie said as she commented on how being a Moderator lived up to her expectations. “I do have a lot more to learn so maybe in time, I'd answer this question differently.” Riserva said, “To start with, I knew there were going to be a lot of new things I needed to learn, I just didn't expect so many of them in such a short period of time. But it comes with the job, and I enjoy new challenges.” He added, “So I would have to say that not only has it met my expectations, it has gone far beyond that.”

The responses on our next question, namely how both of them liked being a Moderator were short and could of course be expected. “I love it, I honestly do,” Riserva said and Nyxxie told us, “Being a Moderator is fun, I enjoy helping the game at another level.” In addition, the Buzz was curious to know what the two of them preferred, being Moderator or possibly being a normal player or Help Desk Operator. Nyxxie said, “Why not both! Moderators can have a playing account, so who is to say I don't!” and Riserva commented, “Haha hmm.. Tricky one... All three have their benefits, although I would have to go with Moderator. It's fun, plus you don't die! What more could you ask for?”

As a conclusion of the interview, the Buzz asked both Nyxxie and Riserva if they wanted to add anything. “I want to thank all the players who have been so welcoming,” Nyxxie said. “With my love/hate ratio amongst players, I did expect a bit harder transition, but I have to say that people seem to be giving me a chance and I appreciate that. I'd like to know what the players think of me so far and encourage them to post their opinions in the reply box below this article.” Riserva added, “wut wut,” after which we left both of them to continue doing their new jobs and helping other players and us to make Bootleggers a more friendly place.
