An Interview With Andy MotherFrick


Many players on Bootleggers like to dream about, and wonder what life would be like as an Elite Guard member. So the Buzz contacted Andy, one of three current Senior Moderators.

Andy was promoted to Moderator in August 2006, the Buzz asked him how he was invited. He said, "BSF2000 contacted me when I was a HDO, offering me the position. I clearly accepted this offer, as here I am today." He later added, "I can't exactly remember what my first job was, but it was probably the same thing most people do when they are made Moderator, look for dupes to ban. It helps us come to terms with the tools at our disposal."

Everyone has a favourite moment in Bootleggers, but what is Andy's favourite moment as a Senior Moderator? He said, "I always enjoy removing cheats from the game and helping to keep it a level playing field or just generally helping people who need it. Saying that though, the first day I became Moderator would possibly the best, just trying to come to terms with everything, checking out the EG Forum, the tools available as a Moderator and all the posts and BMs that suddenly appeared about me, it kept me very busy!"

Bootleggers life would be very, very different without Andy. For example, maybe Sylv would not have become a RR addict. However, how would he feel about not being a moderator? He said, "I'd probably still be playing normally and chatting on the forums, I don't think I'd feel any different, as I wouldn't know any different."

The Buzz wondered what Senior Moderators get up to daily. Andy said, "First thing I do when I log in is to check and then answer anything that is needed in my inbox, the forums and then the Help Desk. After that it's just a case of keeping an eye on things, ensuring everything is running smoothly and to do checks on anything that I feel is necessary."

Andy's fellow Moderators had a few things to say about him. Riserva said, "I think he's an amazing Mod and does his job the way it's meant to be done. And once you get to know him and talk to him, you find out that he's also a pretty amazing person off the Game as well. Only thing that throws him off is his girly handwriting." VooDooDoll added, "Andy is an awesome Moderator and an even better friend. There is no one else i'd rather be on the Elite Guard team with. He is a fair Moderator and makes alot of effort in the game. Hard worker and genuine person."

The Buzz then decided to interview players, about their opinions on Andy. Matt said, "I think Andy's got a good sense of humour and seems like a nice guy, but I've never had any dealings with him." Aldarion said, "Andy is quite handy!"
