The Forums Now iLuMP

When the current forums were implemented, it raised many creative discussions and arguments. The general opinion at the time was on the negative side. People were using such phases as ‘If it isn’t broken, don’t try and fix it.’ Now, as people have had time to get used to the newer forums we at the Buzz decided it was time to see if their opinions had changed.

The Buzz began by quizzing NiceToMeatYouV2 about his feelings towards the forums. We began by asking the obvious question, is the new forum better? “I like it better.” NiceToMeatYou explained, before adding “the forums are more organized and much easier to navigate.” The Buzz followed up this positive response by asking if there was a way to improve the forums further. “Although I know it’s not possible, I think it would be good if there was a way to manage the people who get others for no reason. Also, a good feature would be if you could find a topic by typing keywords or the authors name somewhere.”

Next, The Buzz interviewed DonTelfman who shared a similar opinion to NiceToMeatYouV2. We also asked him which forum he likes more. “I prefer the new forums, but I still miss the old ones. The old forum still had some features which are better than the new though,” he revealed. The Buzz followed this statement up by asking why he preferred it. “The new forums are easier to navigate and look much cleaner. I also like the features such as the ability to start a dice game in the forum, and also how topics are categorized,” DonTelfman replied.
After that, we asked what the biggest improvements from the old forums are. “Same answer as above really. The way topics are categorized are the best as it makes it far easier to find what your looking for e.g. find an OC. I also like the ability to Quote and to KO people in your topic,” DonTelfman informed us. Finally, we asked DonTelfman what features he feels could be implemented to improve the forum use further. He told us that, “The ability for people to edit their posts would be nice. You should be able to edit or delete your posts in the same way you can edit your topic. Apart from that I cant think of any way to improve it. Although, it would be better if the emotion limit of 15 could be removed.”

To generalise, the opinion of most people has changed now they have had a chance to get used to it. Were the Administrators right for updating them? It’s debatable. What will they attempt to improve next? Stay tuned to find out.
