Sun sets on the Horizon! IAlwaysPersevere

After prolonged periods of shooting and peace, Event Horizon eventually met its end as the week drew to a close, being wiped off the statistics page by the combined efforts of The Syndicate and 23rd Gunslinger Co.. This feud had provided entertainment all week, with shots coming from all parties in fits and spurts. The Buzz caught up with D, member of The Syndicate, and spoke briefly to Betty, boss of Event Horizon.

The first question the Buzz had for D, was what had started the conflict in the first place. He told us, “EH just pissed us off.” Continuing in depth, as he said, “We were supposed to be friends, but they fucked us over on several occasions. Afterwards Mags told us: Sorry mate, what's done is done. I can't undo it. So we put EH to the test and shot at TO. An EH member shot Etain and one of their UG shooters shot LethaD. Then the BF's were returned to TO. From that moment, we knew how EH felt about us. So we took a stand and wiped them.” A friendship that was seemingly short lived between these two crews. With Event Horizon’s members continually shooting members of The Syndicate, the penny eventually dropped as The Syndicate and its allies reacted to the shootings.

Event Horizon was viewed by most as the most domineering crew on the statistics. Most if not all of its members were ranked above Godfather, making the wipe of the crew no easy task. This was shown as the attacks came in what was clearly carefully planned stages, each one weakening the crew till it could eventually stand no more. This amount of high ranks meant the attack had clearly not come cheap for those involved. We asked D how much had been used to wipe Event Horizon, and he responded, “Roughly 50k points were used.” We continued by asking exactly who had shot for The Syndicate, to which D replied, “Cuntstable, Bowerstone, Contingent, Earl1234 were TS’s shooters. Militis, member of The Scene, decided to help aswell.” In total it is thought that around eight shooters were used to wipe Event Horizon from the statistics. With over 100 members of Event Horizon lost, this can be considered a hugely successful ratio on the part of The Syndicate.

With the shootings over, and Event Horizon not appearing to want to make its immediate return to the stats, the Buzz wondered what the future held for both crews. With Betty telling the Buzz that the future of Event Horizon would depend on how hard the members would work for the crews return, and how much they wanted it, the Buzz then for the view of D on the situation. He told us, “Their crew forum states that they're going UG and will return when they're stronger. They now had several S and N Dons. All their members were high ranked, but still they got wiped. I'm curious to see how 'strong' they will return.” Finishing by saying, “Time will tell what happens from that moment.” D clearly then feels that Event Horizon was wiped at its peak, and would be curious to see how the crew could return stronger than it previously was.

With the shootings complete and forum speculation mounting, one topic which seemed to interested users was whether The Syndicate had now used all resources available to it. With a further 65,000 points used this week on the shooting of just two crews, many believe the crew are now running low. A view not shared by D, who said, “2 Weeks ago, when we took out 6 crews, tons of Notoriously Riches and several accounts for fun, we spent 78k points and people were asking the same.” Continuing by saying, “Yet, we still managed to spend 12k on TO and ~50k on EH. So trust me when I say there's more where that came from.” A mere front, or a statement of intent? Only time will tell if the points pit belonging to The Syndicate is truly bottomless.

For now the dust settles on the Bootleggers shootout plains. Will there be further action from the members of The Syndicate? Will Event Horizon make its own come-back? Only time will tell. However one thing is for sure, these two crews rivalry is far from meeting its end, and more shootings appear to be inevitable. For now however, happy gaming!
