Administrators Wrestle With The Code TheSnake

The arm wrestling feature, found at the top of the Actions menu, is now fully functional and popular as it ever was: which is not at all. Was it really worth fixing it?

In previous rounds, since Arm Wrestling was introduced, it has been relatively popular – many people made efforts to raise their level in order to compete against peers and win money. However, since the reset only a few have bothered to continue trying as the rewards are nothing to shout about. Only those who (according to most) have absolutely NO lives have any level worth risking a sizable amount of money on – and even then, nobody will challenge them because they have such a high level!

Those with mediocre or reasonably high levels may play as a hobby, to add a little more depth to the game, but it would not be sorely missed if BSF2000 (there you go, he got his mention) chose to remove it from the game. This is shown by the fact that it took so long for the Administrators to fix the bug. It was nothing complicated: simply the fact that no games that were created ever appeared. However, furore* over the problem soon died down and it was forgotten about.

So why bother fixing it at all, you say? Those that have put their effort into getting high levels would be extremely irritated if it was then wasted and the function taken out of the game. This means that it can never be removed except at a reset when nobody has started training.

In an attempt to gain a statement from any member from the Elite Guard, I received nothing. The ever-elusive EG members ignored BMs and a Help Desk ticket, and therefore there is no statement regarding the fixing of Arm Wrestling. This may seem like an anti-climax, but read on...

To cheer you up after that bitter disappointment, all I have to say to finish is,
