Anonymous Hits, Respected? SexehKate

This week I am trying to take a stroll away from the "role-playing" avenue and try a different approach instead. In other words, I'm going to get straight to the point.

We all take the occasional glimpse at the hitlist and obviously most of the time, the people nearer the top of the list with big bounties over their heads (and I'm not talking about chocolate bars here!), are the ones that deliver the biggest wow-factor. Which hitlist is going to get the most attention and deliver the most inspiration: the "noob" (for want of a better word) being hitlisted for $10,000 for having a crappy name, or the State Don with half the game's cash hanging over their head? There isn't much competition. Generally, you will have the most respect for the State Don hitlister for putting up such a vast amount of money and targeting somebody famous- but here's another poser... which hitlister gets the most respect- the public attention-seeker or the anonymous stalker?

On the one hand, people hitlisting anonymously in my opinion, give the impression that they have lots of cash to throw around, as it costs more to hitlist anonymously than to not: keeping up appearences seems more important than actually making the hitlist sum as vast as possible. Some may admire the anonymous hitlister for this- but also, there's always that excitement buzzing around the forums: who is this mystery hitlister?

On the other hand, some may argue that hitlisting publicly is making a bold statement that the hitlister is "hard" and not at all scared of the consequences of his actions, and that hitlisting anonymously is cowardly and unfair. Then again, hitlisting publicly may simply mean the user cannot afford to hitlist anonymously...

On this one, I am going to remain inconclusive. I end with this question: who do you have the most respect for? I flat-out refuse to end the article with "only time will tell"... it plainly never does, and I resent all writers who use it!

(PS: congratulations all you Mods and HDOs who got promoted- in particular, Air. Good luck!
