The Imperium JustDrew

An unusually slow week on Bootleggers doesn’t leave a writer with many options for an article. However, when a new crew displays their name on the stats page, it’s always fun to sit and wonder if they have what it takes to rise to the top? Or maybe they’ll quietly fall like so many others have before them. But it’s even more exciting to watch an old crew make a return. This week The Imperium made a return to Bootleggers for what will be their third stay on the stats page.

To give you a little bit of history, The Imperium was founded back on September 23rd of 2005 by Strider A.KA. Dagorlad. After a break the crew made their second return on July 12th of last year. This time around, Strider brought the crew back because, “I wanted a last taste of leadership,” he told me, “and to leave behind something truly brilliant on Bootleggers.” Acquiring the crew spot would come fairly easy for The Imperium.

“It was done through negotiation of about 1 bootmail,” Strider explained to me, adding that “it happened quite quickly.” With the negotiations over, The Black Out (TBO) agreed to sell the spot for 5,700 points. Curious as to why another crew was selling, I asked a Boss of TBO for an answer. Ishmoo66 explained to me that “We voted and the majority of the bosses decided to sell the crew.” I asked Strider how it felt to return to the stats page and the response I got was “It sure as hell is good to be back!”

With most of my article written, I noticed a post in the game forum encouraging members of an underground crew known as The Crimson Elite to join The Imperium. I asked Strider if the two crews were going to merge. “I’ve decided to take the select members under my wing,” he explained, adding “it’s not a merge. The Imperium will not merge with anybody this round.”

Welcome back to the members of The Imperium and congratulations on your new spot! The third times always a charm, right?
