Banning Spree, Justified? hardon1990

With the new mod tool being used by the BL staff, a huge number of players have been banned for having duplicate accounts. Many players have complained on the forums and through their appeals about their bans being unjustified and unfair, but how many really have been banned unjustly?

The point many people have been bringing up is that they are being banned for having duplicate accounts when they have used BL at home, (with more than one family member playing) in internet Cafes, school and work, so whilst they have more than one account on the same IP they are not, in fact duping. The Bootleggers Terms Of Service, clearly states that there is no rule against families playing on the same IP as long as the accounts on said IP do not interact. Many people when asked to read the ToS on sign up will just "accept" without reading and go into the game not knowing the rules, which isnt the staff's fault? If they see multiple accounts interacting on the same IP, they will see it as a dupe.. There is no way for them to prove whether or not it IS a family account so they stick to the rules (which we all agreed to)

In my opinion, the Admins would not ban a player for no good reason (which might be argued against by others) because, frankly why would they ban players who haven't broken rules? It might be argued that there is corruption within the staff, perhaps players paying them to ban players from another crew? This is something that I can't really speak on as I have no knowledge about it, but one thing I CAN say is that this is a mafia game! The admins are what could be seen as the "Bootleggers Police" and if my history in school taught me anything, the Police weren't all doing the job they were paid to do in the 1930's!

Instead of Bootleggers turning against the staff, why doesn't everyone stop and think that 90% of the bans have been fully justified, taking out a large number of cheaters from the game - making it better for all of us at the end of the day! As for the other 10% of the bans, well they ARE only human after all and it's inevitable that mistakes are going to be made!
