You cant stop a car because you know itll be speeding later That is what Rod once told me when I BMed him asking to lock a topic discussing religion because I told him that I knew itll produce more than one argument thatll lead to one or more religion being insulted! And obviously a lot of people wouldnt like that! Once again, he was true and what he said had a pretty good impact on me, since it was the second reason that led me to writing this article.
Religions on this game cause a very sensitive subject although it keeps getting discussed by a lot of people which end up muted, with the topic deleted. Why, in the name of God, couldnt we be more considerate about other peoples point of views?! It really sucks how we think what we believe in is always right without even sparing a minute to look at the solid facts that are found everywhere around us. I have faced many bad moments on this game because I am a Muslim, even by my own best BL friend who actually said some insensitive, racist stuff which made me shake with anger!
As for the Stickies on the Off Topic Forum about religion holidays/sacred days some people do not agree with them at all but others could highly appreciate these kind gestures for they make them feel understood. I, for one, do not support making a sticky for every special day for the OTF would be full with topics about them and it would lead to many unnecessary comments.
Many topics have been made throughout BL history about Islam and Muslims by calling them terrorist, well lets assume that there are Muslim terrorists, still this can not give you the right to say that ALL Arabs are terrorists neither can it give you the right so say that Islam breeds terrorists.
Not only one religion is right, in my opinion if you are a Christian that does not mean that you are against the Jewish religion.
All this article leads to one thing, that religion will definitely vary in a world wide game, but this should not stop you in anyway from respecting other religions, cause what you say may have a bigger effect that you could expect. So please you should not talk about anything you do not know anything about. Learn everything about it, then you could argue with other people since you know what you are arguing about.
It is known that we are humans are alike no matter what religions we follow or what people do we admire or what opinions do we have.
I hope this article may have had the slightest effect on you, although Im pretty sure it wouldnt effect most of you. But even if only one person benefited from this article Id feel like Ive done an amazing job.
