Weath Status Revamped! MikaVerLeth

The debate about the 'adjusted' wealth classes was pretty intense early this reset. Players did not agree on the fact that you only needed $2,5 million in order to be Notoriously Rich and as people were earning money like crazy, being Notoriously Rich became quite meaningless. Not to long ago Sabin decided it was time for a change.

He made a change by altering the current wealth classes and refreshing them with some new ones. The main alteration was the introduction of wealth classes for people that had more then the $2,500,000. New wealth classes are the Millionaire and Multi-Millionaire classes together with the Excessively Rich and Incredibly Rich classes. The new order of classes is listed below:

Quote:
Food Stamps Applicant $0 - $9,999
Lower Class $10,000 - $29,999
Middle Class $30,000 - $99,999
Upper Class $100,000 - $299,999
Wealthy $300,000 - $999,999
Millionaire $1,000,000 - $2,999,999
Multi-Millionaire $3,000,000 - $9,999,999
Excessively Rich $10,000,000 - $29,999,999
Incredibly Rich $30,000,000 - $99,999,999
Dangerously Rich $100,000,000 - $299,999,999
Notoriously Rich $300,000,000 – X

At first the classes Billionaire and Multi-Billionaire were also added. However, as there were only a few players that appeared to have this Wealth Status it was later removed. As the F.A.Q. Said: “After receiving feedback from our players, both rich and poor, we decided that the Billionaire+ ranks are not (yet) necessary.” The new wealth classes caused quite some reactions amongst the players. The amount of reactions increased as, several hours after the introduction of the new classes, the only Multi-Billionaire was shot and Billionaires were being listed and, in most cases, put on search.

The deaths of these rich players caused a lot of negative response amongst both rich and poor. Only jealous people would shoot rich players who had gained their advantage simply by banking and were now exposed without any form of warning. This was the main point of protest most players had. They thought some sort of a warning should have been given out before updating in order to give the rich players the opportunity to convert their money into points.

However, Sabin did not agree. As this was not different of any other update, no warning was required. So that caused players to be exposed and shot. The new wealth statuses are still discussed and some people still disagree as they were to expose players to much. Being Notoriously Rich just meant $2,500,000 or more. Now, people can get a pretty accurate idea of your wealth and target rich players far more easily.

Whether that is positive or not. It is a threat we will have to live with as the new wealth statuses are there and it's not looking like they'll be altered any time soon.
