Adminstrator BM Block! MikaVerLeth

In a normal Bootleggers day, admins are bound to be bombarded with messages coming from players. With only two of them logging in frequently and a third one active behind the scenes it is more then likely that the active ones get all the messages. This would of course concern BSF2000 and Sabin.

Players were surprised when they found out that administrators can now stop the tremendous amount of messages they receive. When sending a message to, for example, Sabin you could get a message in red saying: “* Sabin is not currently accepting messages. If you need help, please use the Help Desk.”
Leaving you with no other option but to use the Help Desk or try and contact another member of the staff. The second option could, of course, lead to nothing as staff members aren't obligated to answer any message that is sent to them, resulting in using the Help Desk anyway.

Despite the filter, Help Desk Operators and Moderators are able to reach the admins through BM and only admins seem to be able to use this new type of filter. A Help Desk ticket was answered by an unknown moderator who explained the new feature. “The Elite Guard is able to block anyone by "Filtering" them if they have reason just like anyone else. Besides that we do not have the ability ro refuse all incoming messages,” the moderator said. Adding, “I have seen several topics regarding Sabin not receiving incoming messages and I am unsure about the details of that.” Which shows that, as said before, not the entire Elite Guard staff has this feature at their disposal and as the moderator also said, “However that is not something that the EG has at their disposal.”

Other Elite Guard members can filter people the same way we can. Some of them also state they do not wish to receive mail. This new feature could take the possibility away for friends of admins to contact them through Bootmail. “Some staff members seem to forget all about friends, the people who helped them throughout the years and what really got them where they are. Or even why they even wanted to be a staff member. Sure you don't have to answer BM's or even talk to other players. I can understand if the players are rude, immature or just looking to get a rise out of you but most of them are actually genuine and nice people. Those players are the reason this game is still around and staff members have a fictitious role on Bootleggers,” Drewdini said.

Whatever the future of this new feature may be. It will surely help admins to get a much quieter inbox, allowing them to spend their time more effective into doing what we like to see them do, maintaining and updating Bootleggers.
