What is `underground` about that? SirAntony

You see them popping up like wild mushrooms these days, so called ‘underground crews’. Some led by known players, others by less known, but all promising the same things: fun, friends, OC’s and of course, the ‘ultimate goal,’ a crew spot. All of that for fairly cheap payment in the form of a weekly payment to the crew boss.

You might have noticed that I am slightly ironic about that concept. I have been both member and boss of crews with a structure like that, and I must say that in at least 75% of the cases, the dreams are shattered and the crew disbanded.

Looking at the Game fForum and seeing the slightly exaggerated topics of all these underground crews, raised a couple of questions.

What are the requirements for a crew to be attractive for people to join and what is the difference between crews which are underground in the truest form, the old school form some would say, and crews that recruit openly?

In this first article I am making an attempt to answer some of these questions. Whether I make a second, and possibly third (etc) article about underground crew depends on the reactions I receive of you, as the reader. I wouldn’t want to bore the hell out of you, would I?

To begin my ‘investigation’ I made a thread in the Game Forum, to see what a regular player defines as ‘good’ if you are talking about an underground crew. The reactions were well thought off, and I would like to, once again, thank everyone who took there time to reply.

Shortly after making the topic people said that there is a difference between an underground crew and an unofficial crew. I found that an interesting comment, since it answer the question my first question. I tried to make a little definition of these two key words.

Unofficial Crews
Crews who are looking to become official in time, and which have as main focus to help there members with ranking, making friends and have fun.

Underground Crews
Crews with members who’s main target is to spread fear and ‘terror’ over bootleggers. The main thought behind an underground crew is to shoot or take a crew, and disappear without being easily tracked.

There you have it. Just a small attempt to enlighten your vision on underground and unofficial crews. Any reactions can be send my bootmail to yours truly, SirAntony.

If those reactions are good, I will try to answer a next question, and possibly interview leaders and/or members of prominent underground or unofficial crews.

Thanks for taking time to read this article, and hopefully till next time.
