Cavu's Column CavuLikesNyxxie

Hello Bootleggers, it may be night, afternoon, or morning where you are when you read this. This is the first installment of Cavu's Column (hopefully there can be more). This is more or less a test of whether or not there should be an opinion in the Buzz or not. I've written for the Buzz before, and during the time I was there, I always wanted to write my opinion into a story, or just rant. When I left the Buzz for personal reasons, I still read the Newspaper, and I kept thinking it needs someone's opinion. I decided to write about something that's been plaguing the forums for a few weeks now: Should Moderators be active in the forums (other than muting and banning of players) and should they gamble away their money on player owned casinos.

In my personal opinion I believe that yes, Moderators should be allowed to act like players, but still act accordingly with their position. Moderators are people too, which seems to be forgotten by your average whinny BL player. In fact every single Moderator is a nice, caring person. Some might say this is a biased opinion because of the fact I'm on good terms with them all. But this isn't really. A smile and a good attitude will get you anywhere. I met Shaggerty last round after he randomly sent me $1,000,000,000. Quite the gift you might say, we really hit it off after that. This was all before he even became an HDO.

But if you really ask me, I believe that Moderators are people too, 'they' played the game like you and I, and this right shouldn't be taken away. I believe that a Moderator using his or her powers for the wrong reason should be removed from the panel. The truth is that Moderators are our friends, keep them that way.

The other side of the story:
Some would say that some and I digress, some, Moderators have been 'dirty' players. These Moderators would have been funding Crews, players, and giving unfair advantages to relationships. There is really little evidence of this ever even happening, but it has. When LukkyB announced in the Bootcast (back when it was a podcast), that an unnamed Moderator would tell him about the rank bug for a picture and a lot of points. This is strategically unfair.

I've seen a lot of Staff Members come and go, and as of right now, we have the best Staff we've had in a while.
