All in one Bootleggers Chat Mikachu

IRC is a part of the game that is quite unknown to most players. The Bootleggers channel on the IRC is considered as dead most of the time. This was enough reason for BSF2000 to make an attempt to change this.

Players started creating threads on the Game Forum as they began experiencing errors. When clicking a link, Bootleggers would sometimes show an error. People soon saw BSF2000 was online. Remembering an announcement Sabin had made some time ago, namely that working on the game could cause errors similar like the one people were experiencing, the players soon realized that work was sure to be in progress. Question that remained was what part of the game was being worked on.

After a little while of waiting, it turned out that the IRC was undergoing some updates. Or rather, the link to the IRC was being changed. In hardly 20 minutes time, the link that directed you to the IRC Chat was changed several times. The first time it said: “Chat: Sep. / Conn” in which the “Sep.” part would direct you to the normal IRC with the Java based client where the “Conn” part divided your browser window into two parts, with a Java based client in the bottom so you could use the IRC in the same window as you played Bootleggers in.

The second time, the text said: “(Un)attached”. Same as with the “Sep. / Conn”, the “(Un)” directed you to the Java client while the “attached” part divided your browser window into the famous all in one option. However, BSF2000 apparently decided there was no more need for the Unattached Java client. Because after the last and final change, there was only the yellow word “Chat” as we see it now. By clicking it, the IRC will open in the same window as Bootleggers, still using the Java client.

As to why the update was made is pretty unknown. It is likely that it was done to revive the IRC. If so, that has succeeded as the IRC is lively again. More players are talking on it and the channels are now being used again. The Chat function as it should be, active and lively. Why don't you join the fun as well?
