Behind The Crew Name iCypha

Ever wondered what's behind a name, more specifically, behind a Crew name? We ask two crews a week how they came up with their current name, what they stand for and why they run the crew spot.

Smoke and Mirrors - Boss: Cornmeal

What made you choose 'Smoke and Mirrors' as your crew name?
Well, as most know, the leadership for Smoke and Mirrors was born out of the foundation built by The Regulators way back when. We didn't want the crew actions to be based on the past, so, we needed a new name moving forward.
We used the western theme in the past, so didn't want to head back down that road. fink tossed out like a billion names that sounded like 80s metal bands, so, needless to say, we thought we were close to finding a solid name.
Ultimately, we headed towards Smoke and Mirrors because when we talked about what we wanted to accomplish this round, we basically felt we would accomplish our goals if we could pull quarters from behind the ears of our enemies.

What do you stand for as a crew?
We basically look at it like we have a five point plan.
First of all Rat, you never let on how much you like a girl. "Oh, Debbie. Hi." Two, you always call the shots. "Kiss me. You won't regret it." Now three, act like wherever you are, that's the place to be. "Isn't this great?" Four, when ordering food, you find out what she wants, then order for the both of you. It's a classy move. "Now, the lady will have the linguini and white clam sauce, and a Coke with no ice." And five, now this is the most important, Rat. When it comes down to making out, whenever possible, put on side one of Led Zeppelin IV.

What is your main purpose for having the crew spot?
There are several reasons behind it, but, the main reason is that the crew spot is the best way at finding new blood amongst the crew. You have the ability to find members that step up and become leaders in a way that you don't get to truly see if you're not on the stats.
You go through different trials and tribulations being on the stats crew than you would if you were simple underground. Right now, those accomplishments are the ones we want to face.

The Order - Council Run Crew

What made you choose 'The Order' as your crew name?
This round, we carried on an almost 6 year legacy when we kept the name The Order. Originally, i am told, it was named after the film "The Order", although whether that is fact of fiction, i cannot say. NGY originally bought the spot and TomStrong was the first Boss back in round 1, 2004. Doc and Helsbane aka pearlsword brought back The Order in Round 2 with Doc at the helm and Helsbane riding shotgun. Doc later retired after coniuneous assasnations, which where later rumored to be by order of Pearlsword. Mid-round 2, Pearl retired and offered the spot to Soul, who refused and LilJohnny stepped up the the batsman plate, but was out for his innings after only a short amount of time. Soulmate then took up the helm of the ship as she sailed into the end of round 4. Mid-round 5, Soulmate, Lestat and Slice headed up the crew when a spot became available when The Monarchy and TFM sold the spot. Soulmate and Bunneh headed up The Order for all of round five with the start of round 6 seeing Bunneh retire, and Soulmate stepping down from his role as Boss.

What do you stand for as a crew?
We are truly a family based crew, we believe that the she (The Order) takes us where she will, life or death, war or peace. The crew decides.

What is your main purpose for having the crew spot?
Originally this round, we claimed a crew spot in tribute to Bunneh and soul. Bunneh was our Under Boss for all of last round and retired from play at the end of it and Soulmate has been consantly solid all the way through for alot of us. Carrying on The Order is a tribute to the bosses from last round, as well as the members, council, and everyone else who made this game enjoyable along the way.

We're here to play, We're here to keep the peace.
