Altrozero is Help Desk's Newest Victim! Seanlold

This week saw the promotion of yet another new Help Desk Operator. Long time runner of the famous help-site 'Altrozero.co.uk' Altro became the third newest promotion in the last two weeks.

We caught up with the the 21 year old, who had just studied Computing in University, to ask him a few questions. He told us he'd already slipped up twice since joining, and "there are all these scary shiny buttons that I want to press and know I shouldn't!" As a fellow Help Desk Operator, this writer can empathise with Altro! When he was offered his 'yellow coat', which 5litre said he had found in the closet, Altro's only concern was whether it had tassels. Unfortunately, there were no tassels on the coat, but he accepted it anyway and was then promoted. When asked how he thought he would manage and settle in with the other Help Desk Operators, he said he already knew Mika, Sean and Lew through the Buzz and the only one he hadn't talked to before was David. However, everyone had been very friendly since he joined and Altro added, "I think it would be very hard not to get on with these guys". Let's hope he's right!

As a reader or perhaps someone who has never heard of Altro, you may be wondering what he can bring to the Help Desk. Besides the promised Jelly Tots, he told us that he may be able to help other Help Desk Operators understand the more technical side of the game when it comes to scripting and hacking. Owning his own site, we can probably be pretty sure he knows how that kind of stuff works.

He believes his reason for being promoted was, ironically, the main reason he thought he WOULDN'T get the position; his helpsite. He didn't expand on why he thought the helpsite would hinder his chances, unfortunately, but in the Bootleggers Blog, 5litre said that his helpsite was an obvious reason why he would get the offer. He also said it was "no surprise" that Altro joined the team.

Maybe he was right, as the response of the players was pretty much unanimous. Many players said this promotion should have happened a long time ago and that Altro was the obvious candidate so it's good to see that he has finally got what he deserved!

To wrap up the interview, Altro thanked everybody who had taken their time to talk to him, congratulate him and welcome him to the team. Well, on behalf of the Buzz, we wish him the very best. Well done!
