COLUMN: Will you be here? xShane

“Why is it that so many people don’t think they will be playing Bootleggers this time next year?” I thought I would take the time to talk about this and give my opinion on why people are not staying. Come on in and have a read/think.

Recently, bootleggers player, Gustov19, posted this question in the game forum. I personally must say I am surprised at the amount of people who said they won't be here next year. When I read the regular “BL sucks” topic, I usually see the same four or five people comment on how they agree. However, when I clicked on this particular topic and saw that a whopping 41 people don’t think they will stay, I have to say I am a little shocked. The other question that springs to mind is, why wont they be here?

The reasons are plenty let me tell you that. Why would people want to stay with the lack of what is happening in this game? Players are dropping like flies and there doesn't seem to be any updates planned for the near future. The last thing that seems to have happened in this game was the IRC being put back up after being down for a good bit. It just seems to be a dying game at points, but you can see the players are trying to bring some life back into the game with the recent flux of busting competitions.

Maybe it is time that the game just stopped, or it is time for the owner to act and do something about it. Update the game, add some more things to do. Do something instead of waiting until we all get so bored we wont bother logging in any more. It just not really occur to you that other people think this way as not all of them openly express it. You need to see it in cold, hard numbers to realise that so many people do think this way and it is inevitable that if someone doesn’t act soon, we are, in spite of the term, screwed.

So in the end it is another rant about the failing game known as Bootleggers. It just doesn’t seem to be sinking in to certain people who can do things about it, that they actually do need to do something. The only thing we can do now is wait and see if those 41 people do leave or if they will decide they should stay for no reason. Tune in next year to find out.
