YOUR THOUGHTS: Time for a Reset? PoisonedTomato

Even as I type this I can hear the audible groans of players wondering how a troll managed to break into the Buzz and write an article. However, I wonder if this is the only hope left for the game.

A reset often seems to be the easy answer to a very difficult problem; and to the eyes of many players it’s the idea of the stupid, the lazy or those who simply have no idea what they are talking about. I hope I don’t fall into any of those categories (although I have at different times been in each of them), but I find myself being gradually persuaded towards the cause of supporting a reset.

Is it that time now; does the game not only want but need a reset to survive?

Here are a few points that I think back the case for a reset, but what do you think? Please let us know whether you think it’s time for a reset or not below and some of the best responses will be featured in a public opinion article in next week’s Buzz!

    1. More time- The first, and in my opinion the major advantage of having a reset is time. Whilst I appreciate that this would only fix things temporarily I do think it’s better for it to be fixed for a while then not at all! If a reset get’s people playing again so that when new features come out (as they have been promised) people will be in a position to play and to use those features.

    2. A level playing field- Although many players have many points lying around they can’t be used at the beginning of a round, so people can only get on top through playing the game. People will also be encouraged to rank as they do not need to fear random sprees from a powerful group of players (as they won’t be all powerful at the start of a reset).

    3. The return of players- Bootleggers has a huge amount of email addressed ready to inform that a reset has or will soon occur and a large number of these people will return to try their luck in a new reset. This is only temporary however and would rely on player retention due to new features etc.

So what do you think? Do you agree with me, or not? Let us know by posting in this topic or by bootmailing me personally. Thanks all.
