Behind the Name Joke

As everyone is by now well aware, each week we at the Buzz bring to you an interview with random players of Bootleggers. How random? Well, we go to the Users Online, close our eyes and we have a few clicks! Awesome, we know. So, without any further adieu, here are the interviews of this week! Enjoy!

Claartje

Why'd you choose the name Claartje?
My name is Clara, and my nickname growing up was Claartje. It means something like "little Clara". It's my name pretty much everywhere online.

So tell us all, who and where are you? What do you do in life, and what would you like to do for the rest of your life?
My name is Clara, I'm from Belgium and live in Arkansas, USA. I am a stay at home mom to two beautiful little girls. This fall I'm going to college, so I can hopefully get a nice job when my youngest goes to school.

Do you think you may regret having spent time on bootleggers when your kids are all grown and moving out?
Well they owe their lives to BL, so they better be cool with their parents playing it every now and then! In all seriousness, I'm not going to be as active as I have been since the reset for forever. I'm already not playing as much anymore with both kids being home for summer.

So I guess it's pretty obvious to every player that you like busting, but what is it about that you like so much that you ended up being #1 in the game at it?
I like that you get better at it the more you do it. And even after 6000+ busts, it's still thrilling to get that green message saying you successfully busted someone out.
I also love meeting new people through busting. In my experience, busting is the best way to meet fun new people and make good friends.

So what do you do when you're not too busy busting?
I take care of the house and the kids... Soon I'll be doing a lot of studying, probably won't have much time for BL anymore

What will you be going to school for, what do you want to be?
If all goes well, I'll be studying Anesthesia Technology

Did you name your son after BSF2000, or anything relating to Bootleggers?
No we didn't. Although, one of my BL friends, Beekuis likes to think that we named our youngest after him.

What's your favorite movie?
Titanic. I don't even know how many times I have watched that movie, and it is still heart wrenching to watch.

What's the most interesting thing either you've done, or has happened to you?
Probably the whole meeting a guy on a game, flying half way across the world to go meet him, and actually falling in love thing Other than that I have had a very normal life.

What did your family think? Were they annoyed they had to follow you halfway across the world for your wedding and births of your children?
They were pretty mad at first, but after they got to know my husband, they knew I was meant to be here I guess Now they come visit us every year for almost 3 months, and we try to go back to Belgium every couple of years.

What do you think of Caboose?
I like that he is getting a lot of stuff done, but it's too bad that things sometimes go terribly wrong. But at least he is trying!

Who do you think will win the world cup?
Belgium of course!

Why did you choose the name 'Spartacus'?
Because I loved the Spartacus Series! It was amazing, and I needed a new name for this Round; I wanted Dexter name, but when I registered, it was already taken.

What's your real name, how old are you, where do you live, and what do you do for a career?
My name is Fadi, 35 years old, I lives in the Holly Land in Jerusalem. I'm married with a lovely Son and Daughter, and expecting a baby now any minute! I studied Hotel Management and worked in that career for many years, but sadly, there is not very many good-paying jobs in the hotels and restaurant industry, so now I work in the security field. I worked at the British Embassy in Jerusalem for 8 lovely years, and now I am working for the World Bank!

How long have you been playing this game and what got you started?
I have been playing Bootleggers for almost 8 to 9 years now. I joined in Round 4 for the first time because it came to my attention when I saw my friend at work playing this game.

What are some of your most memorable moments?
I love my Old Crew Resistance, am one of the Bosses, that time was much fun and most memorable .

How has your life changed since becoming Nation Don, did you think you'd ever see yourself in gold?
Honestly, I came back to play because I had the goal of becoming Nation Don, I never have been before. Being Nation Don is a great and incredibly lovely achievement! The gold profile is... I'm speechless!!

What do you like to do on your time off, what are your hobbies?
I like to spend time with my family and kids!
I also like to hang over each weekend with my friends. We usually go out for BBQ and beer. I believe one of the most important things in life is friends; trusted and honest friends.
My hobbies are traveling, swimming, camping, basketball and football. I'm also addicted watching all football games, and gambling in real life..

What do you think of Caboose?
Caboose is really great! He saved BL and Round 8! He is doing very well, even more than anyone could have expected. Without him and Mika, Round 8 would have failed already. I have a lot of respect for them.

Who do you think will win the World Cup?
I think that Germany can make it...

Is there anything else you could think of that you'd maybe like to say in the Buzz, or any shoutouts?
I would like to thank BL community so much! Respect for All crews and players. I habe new friends from BL, and already met some in real life.

I wish for all good luck in real life, God Bless you and Your Families All!

Why'd you pick the name 'Tynos'?
My first name on bl back in 2003/2004 time was Martynos, as my name is Martyn, overtime I removed the Mar as I preferred Tynos, and nowadays everyone knows me as Tyn or Tynos

How did you get started playing this game?
I started when a few of my friends from school were playing, so I decided to join also, I'm never sure where they found out about the game, however my town seems to have its own little Bootleggers community.

So what do you do in life, where do you live, and how old are you?
Well, I'm 24, I've now been in the RAF (or the British Air Force for those that don't know) for 8 years as a Communications Systems Engineer and I live in Lincolnshire in England but work at a base near Cambridge.

What do you like to do on your time off, what are your hobbies?
Well because I live away whilst I'm working during the week, when I'm home I spend some good time with my son and the missus. With summer in full flow now I'll be doing some nice days out with my son, make the most of the British Summer. It's always the nicest week of the year, summer. Besides that just general relaxing and socializing with mates. A good few games of snooker with FlameS on a regular occasion with a couple of drinks.

Where in the world have you traveled, or where would you like to go?
Well I've traveled to the fairly obvious places that most tourists end up visiting, Orlando a couple of times, Majorca a couple of times, Lanzaote, Gran Canaria, Zakynthos, France and Italy, those sorts of places. Being in the military I've been too a couple of less common ones which most people probably won't end up ever visiting. I've been to Bahrain, Ascension Islands, Falkland Islands and United Arab Emirates. I would love to visit Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Japan at some point in my life and I'm sure as some point I will.

What do you think of Caboose?
I actually think he doesn't deserve anywhere near all this abuse he is getting, people begged for years for some changes, and when things actually are being done, people moan again, it's slightly fickle. I know we had the whole problem with everyone turning crewless, which was annoying for all of us, but it's just one of those things and it was all sorted after a couple of days, he clearly put in a lot of work to fix the issue. If it wasn't for Caboose we would still be sat in 10-man gangs which would still be riddled with bugs. But that's just my opinion

Who do you think will win the world cup?
It's a hard one to call for me, no team seems to be playing brilliantly, Columbia are looking great and I'd love to see them do it, but I don't think they quite have the squad for it. I will go for Germany or Brazil.

Is there anything else you could think of that you'd like to say in the Buzz, or anyone you'd like to throw out a shoutouts for?
Well as it is Independence Day Weekend for our American contingent, I guess I'll wish them all a happy Independence Day. A quick hello to all my Event Horizon crew noobs, oh and ask FlameS when he wants a rematch at snooker, he's still hurting from the last time when he lost 6-0, I went in dry.
