A New Crew Total Mikamon

During the past week, BSF2000 has been adding crewspots to the total amount of fifteen. After giving one away in a Russian Roulette and giving away another one in a dice game, the remaining spots were simply released and were up for grasps. At the end of the road, the total of ten crewspots was history and a new total of 15 crews was a reality. By adding the spots, the Elite Guard has listened to the players, who have been asking for more crews for a long time.

Virtually from the beginning of the current round, players protested against the ten crewspots as they felt more needed to be added. From that same beginning, the reason for the Elite Guard not to add more was the fact that they wanted the spots to be fought over and they desired that the crews would use their 200 member capacity. The goal was to make owning a crew hard and a real achievement. As time progressed, it turned out that the limited amount of crew space did indeed cause the spots to be fought over. The spots were wanted, causing them to be expensive at the start of the round.

However, despite them being wanted, only half of the plan worked out. As said, the spots were wanted, but none of the spots used their 200 member capacity. With them being so wanted and potential insiders lurking around the corner, crews were very careful in who they accepted and vouches were and are all that matters. If you want to join a crew, your potential to be a good member is important, but the more people you know, the better your chances are of getting accepted.

As it became clear the crews wouldn't be reaching their maximum of 200 members, the Elite Guard started thinking about adding new spots. During a BootCast session together with DJ Mags, Sabin explained the reasons for adding new spots. “It became clear the crews wouldn't reach their 200 member maximum, and the players have been asking for more spots for quite a while,” Sabin said. “So the Elite Guard decided to add them. It's just a test, really, to see what it will do to the Game Balance and if the spots will still be fought over.”

At the moment, shortly after the introduction of the spots, we've already seen quite a few crews get on and off the statistics page. From that we can conclude that the spots are still wanted, at least for now. What happens when the new crews establish a bit more remains unknown, we'll just have to wait and see. With five new spots, we can be sure to see some more action.
