Buzz Freelance Contest: The Results Mikamon

After a whole week of voting, the time has come to announce the results of the Bootleggers Buzz Freelance Article competition. With seven articles in the run for the fabulous price of 200 million shiny Bootleggers dollars or several smaller prices, it promised to become an exciting week for the seven writers.

Before we get to announcing what writers are the lucky ones to win the money, the Buzz would first like to instruct all winners on the proceedings. After you have one, you are required to claim your price with Mika (Mikamon). Please include the name of the name of the person you want the money sent to, in case you do not wish to receive the money yourself but want it to be safe right away.

The way the Buzz Team used to vote meant submitting a top three and explaining why they had selected the article. After the entire team had sent in their favorites, all positions were awarded a point value. First place articles received fifteen points, second place articles got ten and all third places receives five points. By adding the given points, the Buzz found their winners.

With the formalities being taken care of, we only have one thing left: the winners! The article will start with the third place and will work up to the first. Without further ado, the Buzz would like to congratulate TertiaryFIREBIRD with the third price of $50,000,000. Being worth a total of 50 points, one of our writers found the article to be “short and sweet. Good research which includes interviews.” Another writer commented, “Despite the lack of using other things than just people's opinions, I still think a good job,” to which another added, “Properly written, good research, great subject.”

The second price, worth 150 million dollars, has been won by CrackaSnaps with 65 points. “I felt that the article was well written, it had a good layout and punctuation was good as well. In addition, she also chose an interesting subject and put enough research into it in order to write a good article,” one of our writers commented. Another one said, “I liked the way she wrote her article and she had a good punctuation. The subject she wrote about, when I read it, it felt that she really put some effort in the article.” Finally, someone commented, “She has written it in a way that it was easy for me to see that it was her point of view, not a source of information containing trustworthy facts.”

With places two and three being known, there are probably five writers left who are still tense and hoping for the grand $200,000,000 prize. Being worth a total of 70 points, the Buzz is proud to announce that the article written by Duper has been chosen as the number one article. Although it was not nominated as a first place article by all our writers, it was amongst almost every top three that was submitted and has thus gained most of the points. “He made a lot of effort in his article, his research was good, and I liked that he did some history research,” said one of our writers. Another Buzz Forum posted commented, “The entire article is written in a nice way and does make you want to keep on reading. The structure is fine and the point that is being put forward is fine as well.” A third writer stated, “His punctuation was average, however he had the right ideas.”

Alongside winning a first prize, Duper has also won the price of the public. With an average rating of 3.39, his article was the highest rated amongst the submitted articles, earning him another $100,000,000.

The Buzz would like to congratulate all the winners and would like to thank each and everyone of you for participating and voting. Hopefully this will encourage more people to write freelance articles, as other people's views on issues are fun and can offer quite a new look on things. Congratulations to the winners and have fun with the money!
