This week, the Help Desk got a makeover; several Help Desk Operators were demoted, two were promoted to moderator, and three players were promoted to Help Desk Operator. One of them was SplitPersonality. The Bootleggers Buzz contacted him right after his promotion, and asked him about his feelings.
SplitPersonality said, It was gone midnight my time when I was given the promotion so it hadnt fully sunk in before I went to bed, but now it has I feel honoured to have been invited into the position and trusted with these added responsibilities. I am also excited at trying something new as for me that keeps things fresh. Some promotions were expected for a longer amount of time. However, the promotion of SplitPersonality may have been a surprise for several players. He was surprised himself as well, I definitely did not expect to be promoted, as I would just chat or give guidance where possible, either via bootmails or sometimes in irc to people who asked me questions and I am certainly not a well known player from a forum point of view.
Now that SplitPersonality promoted to Help Desk Operator, he got some new responsibilities as well. Therefore we asked whether he was worried if hed be treated, by players, in a different way. He said, I would like to think I will be treated no differently to before by everyone as I am still the same down to earth person, its just I have a few extra duties to perform. Regarding his future plans, he said, I think my aims would be to remain as active as is humanly possible and keep up the good work that has been done on the helpdesk by the other HDOs in the past.
Finally, SplitPersonality added, I would like to thank everybody for their kind words and I will try my best to keep doing my bust competitions as I find them fun to do and hopefully others do as well. The Bootleggers Buzz wishes him all the best in his future job, as Help Desk Operator of Bootleggers.
