MPOGD Victory Mikamon

After one month of voting, Bootleggers has officially been declared winner of the MPOGD Game of the Month contest. All in all this is the fourth time Bootleggers has won this contest, that bases its winner on votes of the general public. The road had some bumps this time, with proxy votes being removed for both Bootleggers and another game. Yet Bootleggers has managed to emerge victorious, of course thanks to all the great players who voted for this game every 24 hours.

After having been out of the contest for a year, Bootleggers was finally elegible to win the Game of the Month contest, hosted by http://www.mpogd.com. Of course, as they say in business, “it pays to advertize.” Bearing this in mind, BSF2000 was of course keen to participate, and even more eager to win. Simular to all previous years, Bootleggers had to rely on its faithful players to guarantuee a first place, seeing the game with the most votes is elected 'Game of the Month'.

In order to motivate players to vote, players were given a reward for doing so. Contrary to previous years, all players now got bullets from doing crimes. The more votes Bootleggers got, the higher the maximum amount of bullets they could steal would become. This new way of rewarding caused some discussion, seeing active players were now able to get themselves a larger reward than players who hardly committed crimes.

Later during the month, the crimes were altered and people suddenly saw a 'MPOGD count' appear below their actual bullet count. The first ten bullets of each crime would go to your normal bullet stock, while all additional bullets went to one's MPOGD count. At the end of the month, if or when Bootleggers won, the bullets would be awarded to the player. This new update met some resistance as players believed another game might catch up and beat Bootleggers, which would cause them to lose bullets. However, since several people e-mailed MPOGD about possible cheating, the site creators looked into the claims and found both Bootleggers and the opposing game to cheat, resulting in both games losing votes but Bootleggers remaining the definate number one.

From that point on, it was a piece of cake as Bootleggers took the lead with a significant gap between the numbers one and two of the contest. All bullets were awarded to the players at the first of May, thanking them for their loyalty and voting. Contrary to previous years, not everyone received the same amount, which meant that some people received only a couple of hundreds or thousand, while others received a lot. Maybe those who received a lot of free bullets are eager to show us some action in the future. For that we will have to wait. On behalf of Bootleggers: Thanks for voting, and have fun with your reward!
