Sabin; His life as an Administrator. ABVQv2

Most players on Bootleggers wonder what life is like for the members of the Elite Guard, but now, you don't have to wonder, as the Buzz contacts administrator, Sabin. Argueably, Sabin is good at his job as an administrator in Bootleggers, frequently updating current features and making the game better.

Sabin, who has been a member of the Elite Guard for almost three years, said, "I was a moderator for about two years before I got the offer from BSF to become an administrator, I accepted, and here I am today." His fellow Elite Guard member, Sweetie, commented on him. She said, "I've always looked up to Sabin. He works very hard on Bootleggers. Sabin has contributed so much more to Bootleggers than most know. He is very professional and still manages to crack some smiles around here. Hard to beat at Uno on irc though as most will know who dare challenge him!"

Everyone wonders what the administrators are doing during there time online on Bootleggers, so the Buzz asked Sabin what he did first when he received the role. He said, " I believe most of my early work was programming for some badly-needed upgrades to the Moderator Control Panel. It wasn't like flipping a switch; my role didn't instantly change to what it is today. It was more of a gradual process, involving lots of hard work whilst on Bootleggers."

The Buzz has always wondered what Bootleggers life would be like without Sabin, and so has he. He said, "On occasion, but I've found that it's much more enjoyable to imagine my future with the choices I've made, rather than wonder about what could have been if I had taken a different path." VooDooDoll added, "Without Sabin, Bootleggers would suck. Sabin busts his ass for this game and its a shame more people don't always see that."

Player opinions are very important to the Buzz, so we got in touch with a few of you, and asked you what you thought of Sabin. IAmAldarion said, "Hard to judge for me, I have no clue where the admins are working on at the moment. I like the fact that he's active on the forums though, he's not the sort of person to walk away when a debate starts." ConquestI said, "He does a lot of work which benefits the game but does not recieve enough credit for the time and effort he puts into it."

Before Sabin left us, he summed up his time as an administrator, and what work he does. He said, "As an administrator, I do tend to see things from a different perspective. I have always been an analytical person, but my experience has taught me to analyze things in a new way. This is especially true of programming, but in other aspects of life as well. As an Administrator, I spend a great deal of time programming. Much of my time is spent working on back-end stuff; changes that players probably won't see or notice, but generally helps the game run faster, smoother, or more fairly. Every few days I check some of the latest bug reports and try to hunt them down, or review a feature suggestion to see if it's viable. I also spend a lot of time collaborating with my colleagues about new features, problems, updates, and other game-wide issues."

The Buzz has showed you into the life of Sabin, and what he does as an administrator. This shows how hard the Elite Guard work to keep this game up and running for us. Hope you enjoyed the read!
