An Interview With VooDooDoll MotherFrick


Bootleggers has seen many moderators come, and sadly go, but one of our current favourites is senior moderator, VooDooDoll! The Buzz caught up with her, and she took time out of her busy schedule to answer a few questions for us.

VooDooDoll has been a moderator since November 2nd, 2007, and the Buzz wondered how she got the invitation, as do many players. She said, "I was actually approached by Sabin. He told me on MSN that "We need to talk" and my 1st reaction was that I had done something wrong. After a few minutes of talking he asked me if I would like to join the staff. I obviously replied with a "Yes"." Sabin said, "I think she does a brilliant job. She's very dedicated and knowledgeable. She has a passion for setting things right. We're very fortunate to have her on the team, and I wouldn't replace her with anyone."

First days at new jobs are always hard, so we asked VooDooDoll how hers was. She said, "My first day was very overwhelming! My inbox was constantly going! I can't really remember my first job though, as there are so many things moderators do in one day, but I think it was probably a dupe check or something!"

As VooDooDoll has been a moderator for two years, she is bound to have a favourite moment as one, so we asked her what it was. She said, "Well, it's not exactly one moment, but it's whenever I get to help a player, old or new. It's sort of like being on the other end of the spectrum." Obviously Bootleggers would be different without VooDooDoll as a moderator, regardless of whether it would be a small change, or a large one. So how would VooDooDoll if she wasn't a moderator? She said, "I don't focus on not being a moderator too much. Even if I wasn't, I still have friends that play that I talk to. I'm not sure I would be in a crew though. I think the mentality of alot (not all, though) of players has changed greatly, well, since I first starting playing back in 2004."

When asked, Andy said, "VooDooDoll and I have had fun moments, including loads of lolcat pictures and her constant fart references!" To which he added, "She works very hard on keeping cheats from playing and ensuing players who play fair do so on a level playing field. She is always trying to keep the game updated and is active on the forums. So Bootleggers would be much poorer without her, however saying that, BL would carry on regardless, just as it as whenever a member of staff leaves."

Player quotes are what keep the Buzz alive and flowing, so we asked a few of you out there what you thought of VooDooDoll. MadMacav14 said, "I love VooDooDoll, she is awesome, firm, but fair and approachable, also willing to admit mistakes and rectify them." LukkyBvIX said, "She was one of the HDO’s that always seemed to be driven to make the game a better environment. I am glad to see her in her current position... Well deserved."

By the looks of things, VooDooDoll works very hard as a moderator, and she loves it! She left us here at the Buzz, by saying, "I enjoy being a Moderator. I like helping when I can and I do it to the best of my ability. I would like to consider myself a firm but fair person"
