SAW One till Six, and 2009? Iditarod

It is not about the movies, the Bootleggers version of SAW. No scary horror movie but something far more positive, unless you would consider watching horror movies positive of course. Either way, the Bootleggers version of SAW is an abbreviation, which stands for 'Staff Appreciation Week', an initiative from BSF2000 for the effort of the staff that “goes unnoticed.” Because of that, “this week is dedicated to showing your appreciation to them!”

After having had a SAW last year, the one of this year is quite similar. The general idea is for players to send in a picture of them holding a sign which shows their appreciation for a single staff member. The first year this sign could contain anything the player wished, it could be crazy, pretty normal or very original. In return for showing their appreciation the players were rewarded as well. Anyone who sent in one picture would receive 5,000 bullets and an addition 10,000 bullets would be received if a player sent in a second picture with them holding another sign. Finally, if it was decided the picture was original, all bullets given would be doubled.

This year is pretty much alike, however this time, the signs that are to be held have been created by the staff themselves. Ten days prior to the SAW, a thread made by BSF2000 could be found on all staff forums. In this thread, we were asked to create a sign for players to hold while taking a photograph of themselves for the SAW. In order to participate this year you will have to print a sign made by the staff and take a picture of yourself holding it. The rewards have been unchanged, so if you are original you might find yourself with 30,000 bullets at the end of the week.

The requirement to have to be able to actually print a sign met some resistance from certain players, as not everyone had a printer available. Sadly there is no other option but to print, as other pictures will not be accepted. It might be something that would need tweaking for next year, but for now this is how it is.

On behalf of the entire staff the Buzz would like to thank everyone who has submitted a picture to show their support; it is much appreciated. However, bear in mind that a simple message saying “thank you” can be worth just as much as a picture, or maybe even more.
