The Appeal Process Clovis

The appeal system is a system that is used for players who have been permanently banned. They can make a post in a forum where they are able to request and show reasoning to be unbanned with the fine Bootleggers staff. Well, it seemed up until recently that most appeals were taking a ridiculously long time to be dealt with. One player was complaining on the forums regarding this, and so Administrator Sabin told us how exactly the appeals system works, and why it takes so long to get things sorted out.

Sabin stated that "If you make an appeal, it will either be granted or overturned. You should be aware that it may take up to 7-10 days for the appeal process." Sabin also made us aware that you are granted up to three days in which to file your appeal. Your appeal is declined if you do not make an effort to appeal within this time. The Moderator or Administrator who banned you is then given three days to give you a response to your appeal. The appealing may go on for any amount of time, and you are allowed to post as many times as you want in the appeal topic. After the banner has discussed the issue with you and made his professional decision on the case, an Administrator will review your appeal and any evidence that you choose to present. All of the appeals that are filed are answered on a first-come first-serve basis, so if it takes awhile that is most likely due to the fact that many people filed their appeals before you. The appeal forum works just like the game forum, in the sense that if one is to add another reply to the appeal topic, it will be "bumped", and moved to the top of the first page of the forum, making it the "newest" one again. This allows Administrators to know when you and the banner have stopped talking. There are two things that will happen once an administrator has reviewed your ban. The appeal will either be, a) Granted, in which your account will be unbanned, or b) Declined, in which you will remain banned, and that decision is final. He then went on to say that he has finally finished updating the way in which he reviews appeals and this will make the process much quicker.

The appeal system is a great way to settle bans that may have not been fair, since everybody makes mistakes, even our excellent staff here on Bootleggers! This system allows you, the players, to your sixth amendment right to have a relatively speedy trial. Judge Sabin will be happy to serve you in the Appeals court!
