Self Made Millions: Un(visa)ble? Gabranth

It has either happened to us or we have been tempted to do it at some point. You sit there logged into Bootleggers, bored out of your skull and you see the Points page. You may start thinking to yourself, $20 won't be missed that much. Will it? Eventually, depending on how badly you want them you will either be 200 points richer or be relieved that you have resisted temptation again for another week.

What I am talking about is points that you can buy with a Credit Card. It sounds almost too good to be true, all you do is line BSF2000's pockets with some spare change and just like magic, you have points! Points that can either be sold for in game money, pay for a casino or get you the best guns and protection. Points are an invaluable resource; nobody can deny that but is using your Credit Card really that necessary? Can you not make money the old fashioned way through hard work and Organized Crimes?

The answer is both Yes and No. Yes it is possible to make your own money through good old fashioned game play but the fact of the matter is that people are impatient. We could all sit down and work hard and OC and make ourselves tons of money but it would take almost forever to do, especially if you don’t get online much or can’t gamble. Bootleggers is also home to players who are so desperate to be ‘the big man’ that they may end up spending thousands and thousands on points in order to have a stranglehold on the game. While these players may not be liked by some due to their attitude or possible ‘more money than sense’ trait in their personalities, it is up to them how they spend their money at the end of the day.

In the end, running Bootleggers costs BSF2000 money and whether or not the owner has enough money to buy a small country by now, the server costs aren’t going to pay themselves. Bootleggers is a game enjoyed by many and points buyers are keeping the game free as it is. However, it is likely that quite a few point buyers; if told they could make millions off their own backs rather than the almighty credit card would probably not buy as many points as they do, if any at all.

Overall, there isn’t really a right and wrong way to earn your own money. Every player has a life and what they do in that life dictates how much time they are able and willing to put into the game. So, whether you succumb to temptation for the first time, or decide to sacrifice half of this month’s food budget (again) to buy some points; it’s your decision. Just think though, that half an hour extra you decide not to spend on Bootleggers each day could have saved you another $20. Earning money on this game may be difficult, but it is nowhere near impossible.
