A New Controversy On Bootleggers? JustDrew

This week the BootCast feature returned to Bootleggers. For those of you who aren’t familiar with it, the BootCast was a weekly podcast with music, shoutouts and players offering their opinion on the current events of Bootleggers. Things are a little different now with the new BootCast becoming a ShoutCast. With the addition of a great feature like this, why is the game forum full of debating about it?

The answer is fairly simple. During the past month or two, Bootleggers players have been able to listen to BootRadio, BootJams and BootHits. All three radio stations were good and each brought something different to the table. However, it appeared that BootRadio seemed to have the largest staff and uptime of the three.

This caught the attention of BSF2000 and Sabin, who decided upon taking the concept of BootRadio and making it an official feature. The owners of BootRadio agreed to cooperate with the Administrators and BootRadio evolved into the new BootCast. The current BootRadio staff even agreed to join the new BootCast, which is why you will notice the same great DJ’s.

With this becoming an official feature, Killeribo is no longer the owner, but instead he has become part of the management. Sabin commented on the issue stating, “Bootleggers was given ownership,” and even clarified a little more by saying “BootRadio was rebranded to the BootCast, because it is something we already have.”

A few players remain unhappy with this decision. Some felt that there should have been a competition between stations for the honor, and maybe it was unfair for BootRadio to become the new BootCast. One player even went as far as to point the blame at Sabin because he was a member of the BootRadio team. After a long debate, it appears that things could have been done differently, but BootRadio was picked due to their reliability and efficiency.

The current BootCast staff said they would welcome any of the DJ’s from BootHits or BootJams if they are interested in applying, and meet BootCast's quality requirements. Regardless of what happens, this is a great new addition to Bootleggers and you should give it a listen sometime. You can tune into it by clicking on BootCast, which is located on the menu to the left under the Main section and then just follow the instructions.
