Seeing as the the Frequently Asked Questions do not exactly give players a little heads up on how to actually play the game, I thought I'd write one. Here you guys go!
Well welcome. Anyways, Bootleggers is a fun, interactive, and unique game filled with opportunities to tell the community about yourself
The beginning:
You will start off poor, with low sources of income. What you need to do are crimes. Keep committing crimes until you rank to peewee. Then keep committing crimes until you are a thug. Soon after this point you should be able to start stealing cars. When you steal a car make sure to send it to another state, to do this select the car VIN and at the bottom of the screen there are options as to where you can send the car, choose desired. If you do not send the car it will be taken back to the original owner. Also do not steal from crews because they will get very mad at you. Keep doing this. Once you have 10-15 cars in one state go there and go to the Sell Items page. There you can put up your cars for sale. You will want to ask around the forums for the going rates on cars. Then continue to do crimes and steal cars. If you sold your cars for a good price, chances are they will be purchased quickly. People usually only buy Beaufords and Duesenbergs, so you can just sell the others for what they are worth under the Auto Burglary page. After you have money from stealing these cars you can start the larger things.
Other ways to make money:
Keep in mind, if you are lucky and happen to find a give away of some sort in the Off Topic Forum (OTF for short) You can easily get money that way. But do NOT beg under any circumstances, because this will hurt your chance for getting any money. Also if you have talent in the graphic design field or picture editing you can sell your productions in the classifieds for some cash. Keep in mind; if you use Microsoft paint to just put some text on the image, you may not get customers!
Organized Crime:
(You should try to have $30,000) see if you can join an Organized Crime (or OC for short). These are crucial for ranking and earning money. For your first OC. You will undoubtedly be a "low rank" that means you will get a low percentage. Do not fret! This is OK. When joining an OC. The leader will invite you to the state where the Organized Crime is being held. You will need to go to the Organized Crime Page. There you can accept the OC. Once inside you can choose the equipment you wish to use. If you are a driver use a Beauford or a Dusenberg. If you are a Weapons Expert use 1 Thompson. If you are an Equipment Expert use 1 professional lock kit. If you are the Explosives Expert use C4. It is absolutely critical that you wait for the leader to finalize your percent. That means that you will get the percentage. If you buy before the leader sets the percent they can scam you by not giving you a percentage. This is bad because you do not get any of the money from the OC. Prices Organized Crime Prices
Youll only want 4 of these, a leader, driver, weapons expert, and Explosives Expert OR Equipment Expert. Either work. You will want to use the best equipment, but a driver can use a Beauford or Dusenberg either work. As a leader you can set different percentages or keep all of the profits to yourself.
Leader: Start OC: $25,000
Driver: Car and $10,000 for fuel
Explosives Expert:
C4: $36,000
TNT: $24,000
Dynamite: $12,000
Weapons Expert:
Thompson: $30,000
MK III: $20,000
HighStandard .22: $10,000
Equipment Expert
Professional Lock Picking Kit: $21,000
Advanced Lock Picking Kit: $14,000
Basic Lock Picking Kit: $7,000
The Outcome. Should the one car OC be successful the range of the money in the vault will vary from $200,000-599,999 (total to be split how leader sets percentage)
Two car OCs require more people but have a higher yield. You need 8 members when doing a two car OC. There are many of combinations of positions. However you can use these three positions. But you will want a look out.
Hired Bank Employee (Dirty): $30,000
Hired Police Officer (Dirty): $15,000
Look Out
Motel Overlooking the Bank: $24,000
Rental car outside the bank: $16,000
Binoculars: $8,000
After OCing, your chance of ranking will increase greatly. If you were a Scum or Pee Wee when you OC'd chances are you will rank to Thug. There is no set amount of Organized Crimes to rank to the next rank. This is because your rank is determined by the number of crimes, car thefts, bootlegging units (sold and bought), organized crimes, and busts you have committed. When you are online, try to do crimes every 2 minutes, buy and sell booze.
Bootlegging:
Bootlegging: In Bootleggers, there is a function called Bootlegging. Using this helps you rank. You can buy or sell every two minutes, the amount you are capable of holding is based on your rank. I suggest that you buy the cheapest and the sell it. You don't have to travel anywhere, you can just sell it in the same state you were in. But if you do travel with a cheap booze to a state, you may be able to sell it for a profit, how ever this is not completely profitable don't base yourself around this.
Busting/Jail:
You will be thrown in jail if you fail a crime and you are arrested. Jail time is based on the crime you committed. You will find the most people in the New York Jail, this is because people are constantly trying to bust each other. You will find busting helpful to your rank. It is hard and requires a lot of attempts, but stay with it. Start trying as soon as you can, but it is easier when you are a higher rank. Remember to say thank you when you get busted. People like you more when you do.
Killing:
Killing is a natural part of the game. When killing someone you will need to know where he or she is. You can use the detectives to search every state. You will need to search for 4 hours or you may not find your target. When killing your target you will need a gun, a car in the state the target is, and plenty of bullets. None of the bullet counters are 100% correct, so use your judgment. Killing is easier with a better gun. Be careful when you kill people, stay away from crew members, however accounts are free!
Hitlist:
Killing is profitable when you kill targets from the hitlist. The hitlist is used to post bounties for killing certain players. Here you can see if there are any people you want to kill for money.
Arm Wrestling:
You can train here to improve your 'strength'. This does not help you in any way but earn money by arm wrestling. You can challenge people by either creating a match or joining one. If you create one, you have to make a bet. Your opponent will have to pay this to challenge you. The winner takes all. If you join one, you have to pay what ever the other person bet. Hint: when playing, make sure that you are a high level. (100+) Before expecting to win.
The Casino:
Casinos are a good place to win money and lose it all at the same time. Here you can play Blackjack, Keno, The Lottery, Poker, The Race Track, Roulette, Slots, and War. The maximum bets of these facilities (Blackjack, Keno, Poker, The Race Track, Roulette, and the Slots) are controlled by the owner. Any casino that is owned by a player you can win if you win more money than he or she has on hand.
Blackjack:
This game is a classic poker game. You and the dealer are dealt 2 cards, you have get as close to 21 as possible. If you are not close and want to take a risk by getting closer you can by 'Hitting' if you don't want to take a chance you can 'Hold'. Then who ever has the closest to 21 wins. If it is a tie, you get your money back.
Card values.
Number cards=number. (2=2)
Face cards=10 (Jack, Queen, King)
Aces=(1 or 11)
If you win you get double what you bet. If you get black jack you get 2.5 times what you bet.
Keno:
This is a game that is all luck.
You start by selecting 10 numbers and choosing a bet. Then you are trying to match at least 5 numbers to win.
5 numbers=5 times your bet.
6 numbers=24 times your bet.
7 numbers=142 times your bet.
8 numbers=1,000 times your bet.
9 numbers=4,500 times your bet.
10 numbers=10,000 times your bet.
The chance of matching 9 or 10 numbers is astronomically against your favor, now if you do match those numbers, you will find yourself with a little more pocket change.
The Lottery:
The lottery runs like any other lottery. You buy tickets, and as the number of tickets you buy goes up the better a chance of winning you have, you can only buy 250 tickets at a time. The more tickets bought the larger the pot.
The schedule of the lottery is that there is a drawing every Wednesday and Saturday at 5 PM Bootleggers Time.
Poker:
Poker is standard Texas Hold 'em. The ante is how much you have to pay to be in the table. The max Pot is how much one person can bet once in the game.
Once in the game, you are dealt 2 cards. There is a round of betting, then 3 community cards are dealt, then another round of betting. Then yet another community card is dealt, and again a round of betting. Then there is 1 more community card dealt and final betting. After this, the winner is determined by who has the best 5 card poker hand.
The hands are:
High card
Pair (Two of the same card (Ace, Ace))
Two Pair (Two sets of pairs(Ace, Ace, King, King))
Three of a Kind (Three of the same card(Ace, Ace, Ace))

Straight Flush (5 cards of the same suit, in a row(5,6,7,8,9, all spades)
Royal Flush (10, Jack, Queen, King, Ace all of the same suit)
The Race Track:
The Race Track is where you can bet your money on a horse with a different chance of winning and pay out. You select a horse then place your wager.
The choices are:
Yellow (Twice your bet)
Orange (Three times your bet)
Blue (Four times your bet)
Cyan (Five times your bet)
White (Six times your bet)
Red (Seven times your bet)

Pink (Nine times your bet)

Pay outs:
If you bet on a number and win, you receive 36 times your bet.
If you bet on a row and win, you receive 3 times your bet.
If you bet on a color, set of numbers, odd or even and win, you receive twice your bet.
Slot Machines:
The Slots are just like normal slots in real life (Except that you can bet millions of dollars on them) All you have to do is put in a wager and Pull the Handle!

7 7 7=100 times your bet
War:
War is the simplest of the casino games. You are trying to draw a higher card than the dealer. The maximum bet is $1,000,000 and cannot be higher. If you win you get double what you put in. If you lose, you get nothing. If you tie, you can either surrender, where you lose half of what you bet, or you can battle. To battle it costs what you put in, if you win you end up with 4 times what you originally started with or twice what you put in all together, If you lose a battle, you get nothing.
