A Change to the T.O.S. MadamNyxxie

Wednesday morning, we were all greeted with a new Terms of Service (T.O.S.). As always, failure to accept will cost you failure to play the game, so pressing "Accept" was inevitable. But did any of you actually READ it and compare the new one to the old?

The revisions consisted of re-wording of most of the whole official binding contract, changing wording like "Bootleggers currently provides users," to "We provide You."

The biggest addition to the document was a new rule under "7. MEMBER ACCOUNT, PASSWORD AND SECURITY," stating:

Quote:
You are permitted to create only one member account, and you may not sell, transfer, lend, lease, sublet, or otherwise permit access to this account by anyone. Additionally, you may not access any account other than the one you are allocated. If you share an internet connection with another user, You are responsible for ensuring that you do not have any form of interaction with those accounts at any time, as doing so may be interpreted as multiple accounts operated by the same user.

Reading the Terms of Service is key as knowing your rights as a player is important to you and everyone around you. However, failure to read the TOS or not doesn't give you the right to claim that you didn't know the rules. It is a binding contract and upon your mouse click over "ACCEPT," you are claiming to have read the document in it's entirety.

A big thank you to BSF2000 for supporting the old and new documents to the Buzz and a revision page, making this article easy to write.
