BUMP! |

Recently, something new arrived to the world of Bootleggers. The so called "Professional bumpers". When you make a topic in classifieds, you will most likely attract the professionals. They will Bootmail you, asking if you need a "bumper." For a small amount, they will keep your topic on top of the classifieds forum.
The creativity of those semi-spammers is sometimes quite surprising. But, in the end it's just ordinary spam. If you need a "bumper" your topic is probably not interesting enough to stay on top in the first place.
"It's actually considered spam if done the wrong way and we are forced to mute and report the person," says HDO Nyxxie when asked about the "bumpers." If the bump was made because another topic was on top of it, it is okay to bump. However, if your topic remains on top and you bump, it could be considered spam. Also, keep in mind the time in which you bump. Consecutive bumps every 1-5 seconds could classify the bump as spam. To insure you are not spamming, do the bump every 1 minute, and make sure your topic isn't on top of the forum list before you do it!
Sometimes, thread creators give a little incentive for bumpers, be it points or cash. But remember the restrictions and do not cross the fine line that makes this lucrative business, one that causes your account to be banned.
