Chronicles of a Bootlegger (Week 1) xradiradix

I have started on a new quest in bootleggers, I have denounced beggars more than once and so therefore I decided to show them how it's done. I have obviously created a hard task for myself but if I may say so myself, it was amazing!

I decided to reach the rank of Gangster without outside help and more importantly without doing any organized crime. At the time of writing, I have not yet accomplished this. I, however, am at the rank of Thug, and I have around $100,000 in cash. Plus a plethora of cars in every state to choose from should I choose to join an organized crime as a driver.

Day 1
I started out doing crimes as a scum, which only took me about 43 crime in total. (To see my information and other users, please refer to http://altrozero.co.uk/boot/sdb2.php?rank=2) This opened up the chance to rob a general store as I ranked up to a Pee Wee, but more importantly the credibility amongst Bootleggers' players to believe that I was actually doing this. I also realized that Bootleggers is a community that like to help out its fellow players.

I received a total of $195,000 from three players, one of which I knew from a previous account, and the other two are just generous donators.

Day 2
It took me a while to commit my first auto burglary, but it was pleasant and exciting. After the first succeful attempt on stealing a car. I ranked up to Thug, which opened another two crime categories.

Knowing that it will be hard to get a good chance of stealing a casino, I continued committing low-paying thefts until the percentage increased dramatically, which allowed me to stay out of jail.

I fell into the rhythm of committing a crime every two minutes and then to attempt to steal a car every four minutes. I also realized that there is money to be made in arm wrestling so I worked-out every two minutes and bought or sold booze. I did all this in the hopes of raising my chances of ranking.

Day 3
I collected enough Duesenbergs to have one in every area code, plus a good amount of other cars. I kept at it until a friend told me that doing missions helps you rank.

I was also advised to follow this pattern to allow me to maximize my chances of ranking:

1-Buy or sell booze (every 2 minutes)
2-Commit a crime (every 2 minutes)
3-Attempt to bust someone (90 seconds in jail, by the time you get out, the other crimes will be ready)
4-Do 25 push ups (every 2 minutes)
5-Repeat 1 & 2 above
6-Attempt stealing a car (every 4 minutes)
7-Attempt another busting (another 90 seconds)
8-Start over

Using the order above the chances of getting jailed and missing out on getting important experience is minimized, and the chance to chat at the forums is allowed in the 90 seconds of jail u r almost certain to get at the beginning.

Then came the patience-testing task of ranking up to Gangster.

Day 4
I was surprised that I didn't rank up after my first mission was accomplished as I wrongly thought it would give experience equivalent to one organized crime, but then I realized it might be equivalent to half an organized crime in terms of experience.

I was also sorry to realize that I got just barely enough cash and booze crates to cover what it cost me to do the mission, $6,422 in cash and 100 crates of Vodka in booze.

I continued with my hopes up but to no avail in ranking today, ah well, tomorrow is another day!

Day 5
I am still on my quest to steal three Duesenbergs from Pennsylvania, so far I stole two of them, and I am almost stuck to find the third. Nothing else to report other than the depressing fact that only a few of the people here on Bootleggers encourage me to keep going.

Day 6
As I am writing this article, I am thinking of ways to supplement my income, I do not want to succumb and follow the usual path of "OCing". One other annoying news came as I finished the second mission, it didn't promote me to the rank of Gangster and I am contemplating whether or not to do Mission 3.

I hope this article helps new players and veterans alike, I also hope that it promotes a playing that is in no rush to rank and that is patient and enjoys the different aspects of the game. Please come back next week for the second part of my chronicles!
