Nyxxie, a Short Interview |

After seeing how much abuse Nyxxie takes every day, I became curious about the person behind the HDO and the HDO herself. From where I sit, it is pretty easy to bash on a person who is merely doing her job. Its pretty easy to sit behind your computer and post spicy comments. Thats not my style. And seeing Nyxxie out there almost every day I became more and more curious what she is all about. Before asking my questions, I want to thank Nyxxie for taking the time to do this.
Here are the questions that I wonder about when I read the Game Forum and see you in action.
First of all, one day, as all of us here, you decided to sign up on bootleggers. Then what happened? How did it all start for you?
I was shown this game by a former friend. This person doesn't play anymore, and never really caught onto the "addiction" like many do. He left, I stayed. It started about 3-4 rounds ago, I do not remember the exact date.
You have a very significant style in being an HDO. What makes you react to posts or topics the way you do?
I try not to take every "bashing" post to heart, when I DO reply, it's usually in an appropriate and mature manner. I do not resort to calling people names back, I usually either ignore it or try to defend myself. I have learned more as the days pass just to ignore it.
You recently posted that people probably would not say the things to your face as they say to you on Game Forum. Would you yourself respond the same way in real life to people who step across lines as you do on Bootleggers?
I'm much nicer on Bootleggers because of my status on the game, than I would be in real life. I probably would, very well, yell at the person and defend myself full force. This is probably because I never get spoken to in real life, the way I do on this game. So when people do have the audacity to speak to me in real life, as they do on this game, I would react in a completely different way. But because it's at a constant here, I'm very much used it. However, as used to it as I am, it is still very hurtful. All I am trying to do is be nice and do my job at the same time. An HDO who manages to do both their job and manage to make friends, is probably a very good HDO. It's very hard to enforce the rules and manage to make a friend or two along the way.
How do you handle the 'not liking' you?
I used to handle it different from what I used to. I defended myself more in the past, it also hurt more in the past. Now, I am used to and take each remark with a grain of salt.
I think you are one of the most controversial HDO's right now, maybe of all time. How do you see that yourself?
That will always boggle my mind. I don't really know what makes me so controversial. I don't OVER-do my job, I do it. There is no "over-enforcing" the rules. So I enforce them. I don't see the problem with me doing the job I was asked to do in the correct way. I don't know what makes me so controversial, I'm just like anyone else, except I have the little power to mute people and lock their topics.
Obviously you are, like all Boot players, a real person. We all see the HDO almost every day and you work very hard for Bootleggers and I was wondering if you would want to tell your readers one thing about yourself that might surprise all?
I'm human and what you say hurts me? LOL. I'm not sure what I could say to get people to calm down a bit and realize that they sometimes take their insults to a whole 'nother high and usually cross the line with them. Just give me time. If you dislike me for locking your topic-- rethink to yourself whose fault that was to begin with. I believe I am a very approachable person. I have had random people Bootmail me just to say Hi and they have become my friends. I suggest people do the same and try to learn about the person I am rather than the HDO they come to hate.
Thank you again for your time and answering the questions.
