A Looming Reset? NyxxieGoneWild
Talks of a reset loom over the game this and last week in what seems to be an attempt by some pranksters to get players wild up! But how much truth is it to these reset claims? In the past, resets have lasted anywhere from one to three years in length. We are currently at our 4th reset here on Bootleggers and if history repeats itself, by the time October rolls along-- a reset could be in our cards.

Over this past week, players have been scrambling around after claims that a reset will happen around August 8th. These rumors escalated when the pranksters added that Moderator, Annihilation, confirmed these claims as truth. However, fear not my fellow Bootleggers for all these rumors will be pushed aside and banished into the dark abyss of stupid and untrue rumors when we tell you the information the Bootleggers Buzz gathered this week.

In the claim that Annihilation confirmed an August 8th reset, Annihilation simply stated, "No, I never said anything of the sort." It was left at that, but we wanted more-- we wanted information from the big man himself, BSF2000. When questioning the head Administrator and creator of Bootleggers, he stated, "There is no planned reset on August 8th (or any date for that matter)."

Was a reset, however, in the cars for us players in the future? BSF2000 contacted us back stating, "a reset is currently being discussed between Sabin and I as a definite possibility in the coming months. We have a list of items that need to be addressed before a reset can happen (involving game structure, framework, and balance). So although a reset is being talked about and worked on, there is no set date when one will happen."

What do the players think of a reset looming over our heads in the near future? Ryneb placed his two cents in a forum discussion, "I'm actually kind of hoping a reset happens now! I've always started playing mid-rounds, and I'd really like to see what the beginning of a round is like." Although all players are not as ecstatic as ryneb, "I'd only like a reset to gain use of all my previous names again. Otherwise than that, I feel this reset is developing brilliantly," said JoeMasseria.

BSF2000 stated that a reset is looming in the coming months (although not on the rumored August 8th date). What will this new-found information do for the game itself? The rules of transferred points from one reset to another states that any points bought within three months of a reset, can be transferred to the next reset. Any points purchased over three months before a reset or with game money will be removed completely. What will this do the game? The Buzz speculates that many players with points will soon transfer those points for some bullets and shooting will begin. With your points disappearing after a reset, what are your plans for those points? Only time will tell. Let the games begin!
