Over time, he became one of the faces of the Help Desk. Being added in 2006, JuanV7 (AKA JuanFran) is currently the longest serving Help Desk Operator (HDO) around. He has seen many HDOs come and go and has witnessed quite some changes. By all of this, he gained quite some knowledge of the game and tries to pass it on as much as he possibly can. To honor his two year anniversary, the Buzz contacted JuanFran and asked him some questions.
I'm very proud to have kept the position for two years, I've seen a lot of HDOs come and go and yet I'm still here and I like to think I've done a pretty good job in helping out the players, JuanFran told us. Hopefully I'll be able to continue to do what I've done so far and contribute to making Bootleggers a better place. Being added last round, JuanFran saw the Help Desk change. The Help Desk has changed a lot from when I first joined the team during the last round., he said. Initially, we had no real guidelines of what we were to do and there was some ambiguity between HDOs during the job in different ways. However, now, and for some time now, we have very clear guidelines on what to do in certain situations and it makes for a very effective Help Desk team.
Still, after two years of answering Help Desk tickets, moderating the forums and helping other players, JuanFran still likes what he's doing and the thought of stopping has never crossed his mind. I am still a normal player after all, he told the Buzz. I just answers tickets and moderate the forums on top of what I do as a normal players like everyone else. I find helping people and passing on the knowledge I've gained about the game over the years to be very rewarding and there are plenty of great people here who make it fun. Being a normal player also leaves him with goals to achieve. Of course, there always things to achieve when you are still a player and hopefully I'll be in a position to achieve those things at some point, he said.
With two years of helping players behind him, the end is not even in sight for JuanFran. Because of his dedication to the Help Desk, he managed to stay on there for two years. The satisfaction of helping and the support of the players made it worthwhile. I'd just like to thank everybody for their support and to the rest of the staff for doing a great job! he said, ending his interview.
Two years on the job and probably there will be more to come. Whether JuanFran will still be a HDO or possibly a Moderator on his next anniversary is unknown. However, Moderator or HDO, he is sure to do a hell of a job!
