Presidential Shootout `08! NYX2000

Fed up with the elections for who will become President of the United States of America? Well it's your chance to get your own back on the candidates! On the Saturday 20th of September in mid-evening, 5 accounts were registered and automatically ranked to Don and a topic in the Game Forum was created. We have SarahPalin, JoeBiden, BarackObama, JohnMcCain, GeorgeBush.

The reason for this surprise event from the Staff? It marks the Fifth Anniversary of Bootleggers on the 27th of September. A week prior the Presidential Shoot-Out, we had another event called Staff Appreciation Week (SAW 2008 where you can read up on that in last weeks issue. Issue #90), where players received bullets prizes for submitting photos. BSF2000 informed us we were to keep those bullets handy and now we know why!

Starting Tuesday, September 23rd, one of those unlucky bot accounts will randomly be available to find and kill. Each day after that, another person will be available to find and kill until the final person is released on Saturday the 27th.

The release times are:
Tuesday: 10pm
Wednesday: 5pm
Thursday: 2am
Friday: Noon
Saturday: 7am

The person who successfully kills one member of the candidates will win a Apple 120GB Black iPod with engraving on the back saying on the first line: “Bootleggers” and on the second line “www.bootleggers.us”. This indeed means 5 iPods will be given away.

According to Elite Guard member, Rod, "State/Nation Dons will not be able to find these people in 5 minutes, they will be restricted to the normal find times." And, if our history is correct, there is no three-hour recovery time. All players will have to research their target over again. This also means that if Player A shoots at 10:30am, Player B can shoot at 10:31. The player who shoots the winning kill (whether they shoot 100 bullets or 100,000+). Remember, the person before you could of gotten the target down to 1% and all that is left is for the next lucky person to finish the target off.
