Crew Boss Routine Rebuttal. sloppy

What is a crew boss? That was the subject of last weeks buzz article. I think the majority of crew members believe that a crew boss is a guy who spends a little bootlegger cash to suck other bl players dry in way of taxes. "Do for me, for I am your leader". When ultimately it's not true.

In my opinion a crew boss is the lowest member of the crew. he's the first to die, the first to have to re-rank, and if he's a good crew boss, thinks of himself last. His job is to ultimately keep each member safe secure and happy. It's a difficult job that most of the time is thankless.

You deal with the excuse. "I can't pay taxes, I got screwed on a poker game. I got into a tiff with crew X. Can you fix it?" or my favorite, "I got into an argument in the forums, now this guy is threatening to kill me..."

A crew boss generally fills his day in between logging in, making sure everyone oc's, they are buying bullets, getting their protection and guns upgraded and keeping the crew itself moving and ranking and keeping the game fun for each member. It doesn't always work that way, sometimes the crew boss fails, not because they don't do as much as they can, but because sometimes they choose the wrong members.

It's a thankless job to be honest, and not worth the time and energy, just based on the way the crew is built.

The crew structure is ancient. You as a crew boss have the ability to "choose your successor" but that's about it. A single member can still remove a crew. There are no extra defenses to being in a crew to being without one.

A crew should be stronger together vs. being on your own. You're already a target because you have a banner, your easily found, and your easily killed. The idea of working together for the benefit of a crew is great, however it's useless when you cannot determine what members are doing for themselves. You cannot see bullets, you cannot donate bullets, you cannot donate points to the crew (unless you donate points to the crew boss himself). With that theory, Bootcrews has been one of the biggest reasons to STAY OUT OF A CREW. There are no benefits to joining a crew.

Crews should be stronger than the individual. Working together a crew with no properties but really active members should be just as strong as individuals with a lot of points. But they aren't. Not even close. A crew should be stronger the individual in the sense that they are safer than the individual. there should be extra defenses for a crew that an individual doesn't have. They should have extra offenses that the individual doesn't have...but they don't. and until that happens I question any crew boss who puts their crew on the stats.
