This week's topic is about the use of proxies and how you feel the Elite Guard should handle those who use obvious proxies to block their indentity in order to dupe with ease.

THE QUESTION
Do you feel proxies should be banned completely from use on this game (excluding corporate or school proxies) or do you feel proxy use should be allowed? Why or why not? Do you think the use of proxies promotes duping?

THE OPINIONS
I guess about 90% of people who use proxies are dupers and I don't think they feel like posting here stating their opinion. ~ bsq

People should be able to use proxys (at school/work). I think we can avoid dupe abuse like that. ~ Arenchi

Proxies could be used at work, schools, ext.. I know a lot of players learn about the game at school, eliminating proxies could make it to were some people would not have the chance to experience this great game. ~ VivaLaDamn

While banning proxies, you will remove a s**tload of dupe, so I give it a double thumbs up! ~ IDutchChaos

Am with using proxies , For the reasons you mentioned as proxies provide a window for players with no access to this game from their regular computers, the way in schools , work etc.. ~ Colombian0Baron

Proxies are necessary in some situations. It wouldn't be fair to penalise people for their circumstances. It's the job of the staff to find people who do abuse them and ban them individually anyway. ~ Paul

Proxies should not be accepted imo. Proxies are third party devices, with them you can hide the original country you play from and play with multiple accounts on one PC. If your work/school blocks Bootleggers then just play at home, schools are for studying and work for working. ~ Azula

Banning proxies wont keep people from duping. People will just create accounts but wont let them interact with eachother and create armies that way. And this might cause more people to cooperate with eachother making the dupe problem even bigger. Ofcourse proxies have pros and cons. But think about the positive sides of proxies. The access from people their work, school, dorm etc. ~ MyPlague

I think there are less people who have to use proxies, than abuse them, so they should be banned. Banning for "dupelike" behavior may catch some legit dupes, but it leaves too much grey area. I wouldn't want this to be put in place. By dupelike behavior, I mean no or low message counts, similar emails, passwords, whatever. Some people who dupe are smart anyway and would make their dupes blend in. Banning proxies except for school/work ones is really the only way to stop them, or at least, diminish them. ~ Opaque
