Welcome to Bootleggers Buzz Issue 20!
A new milestone for the Buzz. After making ten issues, we have now made twenty. Not that significant, perhaps, but I need something to open these notes, right? Let me get on to the more interesting aspects of this issue: the articles! We have had quite an average week, although we did see quite a large change at the end of it. A reduction the players had been asking for for quite a while was finally honored; I am of course referring to the reduction of crewspots from thirty to fifteen.
Furthermore we have covered the NaN error on the timers which players experience if they use FireFox 3.6 and we dedicated an article to one of the few shootings that occurred this week, namely the wipe of Dystophia by The Fraternity. Having wiped Southern Cross Soldiers earlier this week, Dystophia now bit the dust itself. We at the Buzz certainly hope that the reduced amount of crewspots that is now available will lead to more of these wipes, competition over spots is what we would really love to, and hopefully will, see.
Our Bootleggers Buzz Senior Writer Sean, my word, a lot of capitals there, has written a column to find out what the readers would like to see added to the Buzz. No false promises, or so he says, as he will implement every single segment that is suggested, provided it is realistically possible. You will probably want to read what he has to say!
Apart from the articles that have been submitted by our own writers we also feature a freelance article by Zwahili4DaWin who discusses some of the recent updates the game has seen. On top of that we also have two player-made comics lined up for you, and then there are our weekly segments. We have 'Behind the Name', this time it includes a form for you to fill in and submit to maybe see yourself in the next issue; the 'Bootleggers Buzz Sound Off, which this week discusses (and encourages you to discuss) possible improvements or alterations to the Kill feature; 'The Weekly Flash', for the news of this week in a nutshell; and last but certainly not least 'Bootleggers Game Statistics', for an overview of the statistics at the end of this week.
As you can see in our advertisement the Buzz is still looking for writers. Everyone who likes to write and would like to write for the Bootleggers Buzz is encouraged to submit an application article at the bottom of this page. Make sure to pay close attention to your choice of subject, grammar, punctuation and overall article quality. We will do our very best to respond to your application as soon as we can.

For quite some time now the timers on Bootleggers have been returning NaN:NaN:NaN errors, except the Federal Bank on the Firefox browser after its new 3.6 update, odd yes? What makes the Federal Bank so special that it was the only timer unaffected? After catching up with three coders The Buzz was able to find reasons behind the errors.

| Thirty Divided by Two |

As the game no doubt expected a lot of old players to return, the amount of thirty crewspots did not seem like a terrible idea when the round recently started. However, as time progressed the players began to oppose to the amount of crewspots more and more. In fact, the base of players that disagreed with the number of spots seemed to grow rather rapidly at some point, with threads being made and the number of thirty being discussed on more than one occasion.

So, this is my first (and possibly only) column. I felt the need to write this considering the enormous amount of flak the Buzz has been receiving lately and I guess I just wanted to make a little speech. I want to make it clear from the outset that I am not using this as a means to antagonise the players who don't like the Buzz, but rather (quite genuinely) try to help make the Buzz more enjoyable for you to read.
