Did you know you can access Bootleggers via bootleggers.eu, bootleggers.info and bootleggers.mobi as well as bootleggers.us? There was never a formal announcement, yet it is still possible. They will all re-direct to bootleggers.us either on the initial visit or login.
Did you know the term Bootleggers comes from the smuggling of alcohol in the prohibition period of America? Smugglers would hide bottles of booze strapped to their legs or inside tall boots, hence the term Bootleggers. While not associated with booze being carried in boots, bootlegging is still a problem in the United States, rather than to avoid a ban on alcohol, it is to avoid tax.
Did you know if you hold the shift key and press S twice your information on the side menu will hide? This is to allow for the easy taking of screen shots without the need for painting over your data. Pressing shift and S again will return the information, or if you move to a different page.
Did you know that originally the game was not made up of states but rather cities? Such as Philadelphia which is in the state of Pennsylvania, Chicago in Illinois and Detroit in Michigan.
Did you know that if you add an @ sign in front of a name on your friends list they will be marked for death? They will appear black on the users online page and will not be able to see if you are R.Don or L.Don if you are hiding your don rank. Their name will also handily appear on a quick menu on the kill page. Dont worry; they will not be informed of this mark.
Did you know Baby Face Nelson who was part of the Buzz contest last week was a real life infamous gangster? He was recently portrayed by Stephen Graham in the film Public Enemies. He is believed to have killed more FBI agents in the line of duty than any other American Citizen. He died just after prohibition ended, however, he was known for bank robberies. Just like players of this game, you didnt have to sell booze to make money in those troubling times.
Did you know that Ndrangheta, the crew that joined this statistics this week, is named after a real life criminal organization that exists today in Italy? The name should be Ndrangheta, however, Bootleggers does not like apostrophes in crew names.
Did you know that there were once 45 crews in the game? It was then dropped to 15 following a reset. It is believe it was an attempt to make crews more respectable and to increase competition? However, no official reason was given at the time.
Did you know that Bootleggers is an anagram of Boggle Store? As Bootleggers does not sell the game boggle or any of its merchandise, we do not believe this was on purpose.
Did you know that four of the six current help desk operators are Buzz writers? While being a Buzz writer does not necessarily mean you will become a HDO, it does help according to 5litre in the Bootleggers Blog.
