Aldarion- New Buzz Editor |

This Tuesday Sean, stepped down as Buzz Editor as well as HDO and handed the reigns over to Aldarion, currently known as NVIDIAldarion, ex-head writer at the Buzz and long standing writer of over a year and a half. We at the Buzz contacted him with our congratulations and to get his thoughts on his new job.
Mixed feelings seemed to sum up Aldarions thoughts about his promotion; although he was looking forward to getting stuck into his new job, he told us he felt "Not all that happy. If someone offered me the choice between staying [as Editor] or getting back to the old situation, I'd be a normal writer right away." He also spoke appraisingly about our former Editor, saying "Sean has put a lot of effort into the game, into the Buzz, effort we should be thankful for. Him leaving like this, it just didn't feel right." We at the Buzz can only echo his thoughts, Sean was a great Editor and was great to work with, he will be sorely missed but we look forward to working with Aldarion to keep the Buzz as good as it always has been!
So there was an opening for an Editor but how surprised was Aldarion to be asked to take the position, having only recently returned to the Buzz, he told us "When I was offered the opportunity, I was blown away.... I wouldn't say the current team lacks experience but I was probably closest to the Editor position because I had been Head Buzz Writer for over a year."
As Editor, Aldarion has total dictator style control over the Buzz (help us), we asked what he wanted to achieve with all of this power, "Given the current situation we are a little bit in a crisis considering the number of writers." He told us "My current goal is to let the Buzz survive this crisis. I'll be looking for new writers and hope to deliver a (high) quality issue every Sunday." An admirable aim, and how could he not with the quality, although dwindling, stock of writers we currently have here at the Buzz? From our interview it becomes clear that the low number of writers at the Buzz is clearly a major concern in Aldarions mind, as he told us that if he could change one thing about the Buzz it would "Probably the number of writers, the Buzz cannot exist without writers. I guess the ideal situation would be a large team where not everyone has to write an article every week." Adding that it helps "Keep people motivated." But apart from that, changes seemed a little on the thin side in the mind of our new Editor, he told us there were "No major changes" although he promised "some small changes 'behind the scenes'." He told us that the problem with changes is that "the Buzz is more or less a fixed idea. It's hard to make a major change that makes proper sense."
So Aldarion promises nothing flashy, but simply what is necessary. Getting some new writers on board and publishing a good quality Buzz every week. However it isnt all hard work and no play, Aldarion told the Buzz that he is "Most looking forward to using the Control Panel, I mean, it's just utterly brilliant." Adding "I've been told publishing the Issue is the best feeling an editor can have so I'm looking forward to that as well."
We concluded our interview by wishing Aldarion the best of luck with his time at the helm of the Buzz, and he took the opportunity to thank a few influential figures of the past of the Buzz, saying "I want to thank a few people, first of all Mika as he once convinced me to join the Buzz, I learned a lot from him and he's been a great help in the past few days. I want to thank Nyxxie for her work as an editor and I guess she's indirectly responsible for this as she promoted me to Head Writer back in the days. Finally I would like to thank Sean for all the hard work he has done for the game. For me it's an honour to continue the work the aforementioned people did before me".
Good luckAldarion, maybe one day you will be among those people who have done so much for the Buzz. But not too soon!
