Im back... for those of you too lazy to check my profile or those who simply dont know who I am (the majority); its me, Poison!
If my memory serves me correctly, and it rarely does (early onset Alzheimers), more than two months have passed since Ive left the Buzz and I thought it was time for a return, why I hear you ask? Well unbelievably, it isnt just my sense of community spirit; my desire to give something back to the game and my insatiable appetite for writing, it is in fact it is due to my boredom.
I would like to take this opportunity to say that it has nothing to do with Sean leaving, the timing is purely coincidental. Sean Sean Sean (which is it now?!) was a great editor and HDO and will be sorely missed at the Buzz as well as in the game as a whole, who are you guys going to slate now?
When I quit the Buzz I drifted slowly away from Bootleggers, in an almost half hearted attempt to quit. However those of you who have ever attempted this feat will know that it is no easy matter! I was forced to stop myself subconsciously drifting onto the game, more than once having to stay my hands when I noticed www.bootleg appearing in my address bar. Exterior forces even seemed to be helping me on my way to quitting; a member of the Elite Guard deciding to ban me for two days after I supposedly spammed the help desk was enough to nearly push me over the edge, now seems an opportune moment to mention that I still maintain that this ban was unjust as every question I asked was entirely genuine and even put under the correct categories (see my column on temporary bans for more)..... /rant, where was I? Oh yes... Exterior forces even seemed to be helping me on my way to quitting; a member of the Elite Guard deciding to ban me for two days; one of the best friends I will ever make on this game leaving; and of course the joys of A levels and parents evening... which are never a good combination with my attendance levels. But even with all of this, I couldnt seem to keep away.
I have in the past sat on a rather high horse when people have exclaimed how boring this game is, thinking how little they knew, but now I can see that I was in fact the ignorant one. But fear not, I can wrench you out of ignorance along with me. This game can be boring; yes. And frankly we havent been given a lot to excite us recently, except BSF2000 making a post in the forums, something which I think shouldnt be a cause for celebration! I think the popular expression of every player around when someone moans about boredom; well do something about it then has been proved truer than I ever thought possible. Perhaps more attention should be paid to the average player (hint hint BSF).
So I rejoined the Buzz, as you can see, and I truly hope that you enjoy reading the end product as much as I enjoyed writing it. I couldnt have received a warmer welcome in the Buzz forum; it truly is nice to be back amongst friends, people who I hold in such high esteem.
So here I am; bored of this game, doing something about it and loving it. Why not do what I did? The Buzz always needs writers, the Help Desk always needs operators, Mood always needs DJs, crews always need bosses and members, casinos always need holders and busters!
Why not you?
