Protection, most commonly known as beginners protection, prevents other players from whacking you when you first begin a new life. Listed below are all the ways you may lose this protection.

• Reaching the rank of Boss (Ranks)
• Banking $10,000,000 or more in the Local Bank
• Holding any property
• Being layered in a Crew
• Whacking another player
• Having more than 10 concurrent searches using Private Investigators
• Living for more than 14 days
• Having someone beat up in Jail (keys to the yard)
