Issue: 35   Editor: HowlingMadMika

Editors note HowlingMadMika

Welcome to issue 35 of the Bootleggers Buzz!

Quite a lot of threads called “Bootleggers Buzz Issue #35!” were floating the Game Forum when I logged in today. At first I thought Nyxxie had been in a very productive mood, had done all the work that was still waiting to be done and had pressed publish. Seeing she is mainly there for when I am unable to make it, this was of course a somewhat unlikely scenario. Yes, I was fooled, I admit. Pat yourself on the back, well done. No contest for you today. Not for those that created the threads that was, the others may compete.

Wait... contest? Yes. Contest! It has been a while since the Buzz hosted a contest, and in fact I cannot be bothered to go back and search through the issues only to come up with an irrelevant number. Just take it from me, it was a long time ago. If you want a chance to win 100 points then scroll right down and see what you have to do. Good luck to all those who wish to compete!

Alright, on to the other news. Halfway through the week, we at the Buzz thought that Midway's shootings were the only action we would see. Or did we? Sean's crew takeover was action as well, right? Not really. Perhaps. Oh, just read it. Let's keep it at a “maybe” for now. Either way, this changed, though, as the week neared its end and both Resistance in the form of State Don Oops and The Departed both opened fire on separate targets. The Gambino Family and several State Dons bit the dust due to Oops and The Departed took out Death Road Ministry and Virtual Reality before being wiped itself.

That covered the violence. How about the happy news? “This is a mafia game, go take a hike with your happy news!” Sorry, my newspaper. We have a new Help Desk Operator, as most of you probably noticed. His name is BuzzLew, or Lew. A long time colleague here at the Buzz. Congratulations! Of course we caught up with him managed to get him to sit down and have a chat. From new staff to staff communication. Nyxxie launched a blog this week to bridge the gap between the Elite Guard staff and the players. We encourage you to read the blog. After reading the Buzz of course.

I realize this issue is quite large, literally. At least, it is on my screen. We have our comic to blame for that, but hey! Look at it from the bright side, at least we have another 'Buzz Comic'! We also have 'Behind the Name', 'The Weekly Flash' and the 'Bootleggers Game Statistics' for you. The 'Profile Ratings' will return last week. Due to all our participants being dead even before writing the article it seemed rather pointless to include it. Anyway, scheduled to be back next week. No worries.

Like a lot of the past issues, this issue also contains a freelance article, or rather, column, from the hand of our lovely DeliciousX. Yes, she is a girl. I know. I did not for the first couple of issues but I do now. Stop rubbing it in already! We have more, though. Another freelance article in the form of a call from one player to the Moderators and all of us. Make sure to read 'em both.

As always, those who wish to join a freelance article are encouraged to do so. Just like add the current two and come up with something similar, or get your mind to work and come up with something entirely different. The choice is yours! As long as it is within the Terms of Service and the general Game Rules it is unlikely the Buzz will not be okay with it.

If you want to put your Buzz writing experience beyond writing freelance articles then submit your article via a different option in the drop menu; as an application. The Buzz is always looking for new writers, so if you feel you have what it takes to become a Buzz Writer then feel free to apply with an application article. For hints and tips on writing an application you can read the 'Road to the Buzz Forum' article in issue 32. We hope to hear, or rather, read, from you.

That's all folks!
Enjoy the read. I will see you next week.

Until then; take care, and stay safe.

The Departed Strike and Depart HowlingMadMika

When The Departed lost two State Dons and one Legendary Don due to shootings of The Triad and The Family, the crew decided to retaliate and to strike those allied with the actual aggressors: Virtual Reality and Death Road Ministry.

Nation Sensation HowlingMadMika

Reaching Nation Don is something many players aspire. The personal bullet factory, five available bodyguards and the golden profile make reaching the rank very attractive. It is a long way, though, and it has more advantages.

As the title says, Tropa De Elite member, WillSeanMakeBoss, now called Seanlold due to the fact he died over this fiasco, was the center of attention this week. It was all over a situation he got into with his crew, a little joke you could say.
